Okay just got an email from Angel's Gate Hospice, which is a pet sanctuary here in the New York area. To quote the website itself.. .."Angel's Gate, a residential, non-profit, 501 (C) 3 home, our home, for special needs animals. Here, animals many of whom are terminally and/or critically ill or physically challenged, come to live out their days in peace, dignity and love. Our focus is on wellness and quality of life. We provide for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each animal. We take a holistic approach in animal care, giving all needed supportive services including hospice care..." Angel's Gate was founded by Susan Marino and was the first of its kind type of hospice and rehabilitation center to take care of animals that would not otherwise be taken care of and not just cats and dogs. Put your stamped letter with the following address next to the door so that you don't forget to drop it in your mailbox on your way out in the morning.....and that's it. That one simple act, when done in unison with what we believe will be several thousand others, postmarked from all corners of the country, should send a message to ABC that simply can't be ignored. So, put a rubber band around your wrist, put it in your PDA, daytimer, or wall calendar, write it on your hand, tell a friend to remind you (and while your at it invite them to send a letter too) whatever it takes to help you to remember to mail your letter tomorrow August 12TH and let's be part of something huge! [/i] Now if you're an animal lover and would love to see this great animal/pet sanctuary have a chance for that famous show Extreme Home Makeover to get the needed improvements they could use please write that letter and mail off tomorrow..even the next day would help..but please write. Since Angel's Gate is a non-profit sanctuary it means their main source of income is via donations. To get any kind of improvements for the sanctuary itself would mean a lot of money. More than donations could provide for...thus the reason Angel's Gate put an application to hopefully get noticed by Extreme Home Makeover.
