Essential Oils, what can they do medically?

I took a researching job for a company who developed Essential oil blends to be used medically. Before selling it in the market, the products should be registered in BFAD (Bureau of Food and Drugs) here in the Philippines. Now, the draw back here is how i can convince the bureau, its therapeutic effects!. The owner of the company wants the products to have' Therapeutic claim' but most of the esssential oils in the industry being sold are under cosmetics and are claimed as " Non Therapeutic' I told that to my boss, but he insists that i should research on it to pass the medical standards. This is hard! Can anyone point me to the right direction?

I do believe their is a difference between what some call essential oils, I think it is a case of you get what you pay for in many cases, like a lot of the cheaper oils one can buy to use in oil burners and such are not like the ones you pay a little more for therapeutic reasons, i don't know what is in these to make the difference, I guess there must be something...good luck with your research i hope you find what you are looking for.
