How can some people be so insensitive and unrespectful?

I'm so mad! Really mad! I even hated doctors now! And I have to put my life in their hands when I give birth? BS! I'm sorry, I'm just soooo angry, so angry, that I don't think I can be calm after a day or two. So, I was in the hospital at 8:30 this morning for my ultrasound. I was number 7, which I think is just fine considering the 6 people before me were there since 8AM/ The doctor, who was supposed to be there at 8AM made us wait for 1 hour and 30 minutes! What a very unprofessional #^Q@$#^%@! I don't even know if I can hold myself from scratching her ugly face! But then I have to be back at the office by 10AM since I told my boss I'll be out just for an hour and 30 minutes, so I decided to tell the nurses that I'll be back after lunch maybe or any time in the afternoon since I have to work. Then one of those b!tches gave me back my form and told me I have to be back by 130 because that's when their lunch break will end and that's when they're gonna entertain patients for the afternoon. I was so mad, I'm boiling inside! They expect me to take a line again on the afternoon when I already wasted an hour and a half waiting for the insensitive doctor? I kept my calm and said fine. I'll be back by 1PM to make sure I get the first slot in the afternoon. I was there at 1PM, well, I was number 1, which is good because I have to be back here in the office by 230 PM. Well, you guessed it again. The doctor seems to forget that her lunch break ends at 130. At 2:20PM, I couldn't take it anymore. I went to the nurses who were wasting their time gossiping and asked them where the doctor is. One of them told me "She's supposed to be her by 2PM but obviously she's still not here!". Now that really pissed me off! I was struggling so hard not to slap the nurse' face. How dare she talk to a customer that way? So before I do something I might regret, I turned away without a word, left my form and went back to the office. God! Why do these people ever exist? Why are they even given a job that will allow them to communicate with people? Grrrr! I'm still fuming mad!

Call the main Office there and explain what happened and how you was treated and forgot. They mite take some off your bill. I was late for my Dr's appointment one time by 15 min. Traffic. They told me I had to make a new appointment OK fine I did. I go back he is 40 Min. late and I have an appt. in 10 min. I talked to him about it plus there billing office as I was only there for about 5 min. And had to leave. I only paid $10.00 that time. Other wise it is about $75.00. They are really a pain in the butt I know. Talk to your Ins. company as well. They really don't like it. When things like that happen. My gosh I fill for you. One other time I was all undressed waiting for Dr. I fell asleep. He got there two hours late. I didn't know as I was sleeping. lol. But he was really mad as he had an emerg. at the hospital. Went and got back and I was still there. lol taking a nap. I got my check up. A nurce said why didn't you leave. My Dr. heard her and all heck broke loose. I left and I never did get a bill for that one. Hope things go better for you. The baby will make it all better. Not now later. But yes be mad. I will listen to you. As you know how PG. woman can be. I hate that when they say that. What about you? As your PG now. Hope your day's get better.

LOL! You fell asleep! Oh well, that's better, much better than having your eyes open, doing nothing but getting mad and mad every minute. I had my bill refunded, I went to another hospital, and finally had my ultrasound yesterday and the doctor was really nice and sincere and informative. He didn't seem to mind that I took plenty of his time with my questions. He was so helpful. The baby always make things better, I just talk to him and all anger and anxieties vanish... I love my angel. Oh, they can always say, let her do this and do that, "you know how pregnant women are..." well, I'm saddened by the stereotyping but sometimes I'm glad there's a way a can get what I want, LOL! Days will get better and better, thanks. God bless you...

I think that if there were any way possible, it would be good to get a different doctor. There's no excuse for the doctor treating you that way...

Does the hospital that you have attended a customer care service? If yes I would certainly write a harsh letter to the hospital administration mentioning what has happened and giving exact details fo date and time. However one must be understanding that the mentioned doctor could have been late because she was on duty elsewhere in another ward or in another duty which required more urgency than yours. It is a fact that most doctors in public hospitals are overworked and under staff.

That is horrible! I'm not sure I could have contained myself that well while I was pregnant....I'm pretty sure I would have at least called all of them a few choice words! I'm not sure why they allow people like that to work at a hospital or clinical setting. And That Doctor!!!! I could see if they got behind because of a couple of difficult patients, but to just not show up when they are supposed to is horrible. Sad to say though, it may happen more after the baby is born too. I showed up for my daughters 3 month check up 15 min. early, checked in and sat and waited. I even checked with the receptionist after the first hour and she said the doctors are all running behind on patients. After 2 more hours (my apt was at 4.pm and it was now 7pm) I asked again and the SAME receptionist that checked me in and answered my question the last time, informed me that there was a mistake and my doctor wasn't in the office that day and they didn't squeese me in for another doctor. I was so angry. I had to rescheduel, which I wouldn't have cared if they would have told me when I first showed up, but I had sat for 3 hours with a baby in a crowded waiting room. I can never tell if the people that do that type of thing are horribly rude or just rediculously stupid.

My sentiments exactly... Rude AND stupid, definitely not OR. Tsk! They can always tell us not to wait, we can appreciate that better than letting us wait for nothing. Very insensitive!

I'm sorry to hear about this. I always expect to wait a little while even after making an appointment at a doctor's office. I understand that sometimes they could run behind schedule... but I agree with you, the staff should've been more forthright and never should've treated you that way. Did you ever get to find out what happened to the doctor that day? I'm not really quite sure but some physicians get called into emergencies and if she was, then her staff should have told you and the other patients. I remember going with my dad for one of his doctor's appointments over there (years ago) and I clearly remember waiting and getting annoyed that the medical representatives who just happen to drop by get to see the doctor before the waiting patients. But he had a good doctor though. He was my dad's physician until he decided to drop everything and try as a nurse in the US.
