Work Pressure: Longer Hours, Less Leisure Time

Many of my friends tend to work longer hours lately. They said that they toiled for more hours to get the same paycheck. And we can't even settle down a certain day for a get-together and chat about old days. This is really hard.
Does this happen to any of you or people you know? Or has it something to do the slowed world economy?

It happens to me a lot. Working gives me a sense of security. My brain doesn't need any free time. :P But I do think that everyone needs to really have fun with friends or family in order to be productive at work. If we consider making a living or working more important than our family or friends, we are nothing but machines. So I'm learning to slow down and trying to ignore the low balance in my bank account.

You surely know how to lead your life! You are right. Money is nothing if we're not happy. I don't have much balance in my bank account either. It's about spending all the time for me. Hopefully i can sit back and enjoy my later half life lol.

i think it depend what's your job.for example,i work in the road and engineering company,now there is a engineering of tunnel,it's clear that i must live there and conduct something always,i feel sometimes i have to work 15 hours one day,but that;s my job,my job is very hard.

Engineering is indeed a very demanding and hard job. My husband is an engineer too. We simply don't have enough time for an outing or something. It's nice to have you here in mylot. Your membership lightens mylot lol. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

this is scary indeed! we are getting increasingly busy and we hardly have time to look back, stop by or freak out with friends. This is sad! Where are we heading towards. I think we are getting busy to die early. can we really enjoy the paychek? I guess NO.

That's what i'm worrying about too. Sometimes i would wonder where are we heading at with no time to enjoy doing things we like. But eventually we'll try to sneak out and have fun. Thanks for sharing and wish you all the best!
