They tell us we're in the grip of global warming and that parts of the world will become like deserts.
If only that were true here!
With the credit crunch, fuel prices, and fears over international travel, many Brits have opted for stay at home holidays this year, but look hat we're faced with at the height of the holiday season?

Will we ever see any sun? Stuff is going mouldy in my greenhouse intead of ripening!

I have just come back from 10 days in not so sunny Dorset, out of 10 days we got 3 sunny days, although overcast and the rest was well put it this way Winter weather! Last Saturday it rained constantly all day long! Gale force winds. We get every season in one month now, although both snow and the sun are rare commodities. We used to rely on August being hot, now the months are so out of sync that sometimes we get our Summer in April! sometimes not at all. Maybe global warming is responsible but as you say where is the sun??

I know its flipping marvelous isn't it? I am sick and tired of it, the weather is just depressing, and there is nothing to look forward too. For the last two years I have looked forward to summer only to end up looking forward to getting soaked.
I went up town today and heard two people saying that they had cancelled their holidays in this country because of the weather being so bad, they just do not feel like going. We have not bothered with another holiday because of the weather either, and I dont know what we will do next year, but I reckon a trip abroad might be on the cards.

Hello MichaelJay
Many people would like to stay at home in summer holidays because of the hot weather.Of course, i am the one who stay at home too.Maybe in my heart, i would rather spend two winters than one summer.
Sometimes,i was wondering if i were living near by the sea.I would spend high quality summer.I have a friend who live in the seaside of the UK. He said he enjoyed his life well in summer time.lol
good luck to you

Hi, do you really have such bad weather over there ? Okay this year the summer was starting late and in the beginning it was colder as it used to be but then it turned out to a sunny hot summer.
I feel sorry for you, honestly! We can feel the global warming. In my youth the temperature record for my area was about 36 Celsius and now we have summer days it is jumping up to 42. That is too hot and unbearable and for the plants it is too dry sometimes. I don`t know a mixture of both would be great. So send some rainy clouds, I`ll send sunshine back :)

I've all but given up on the garden Michael. Everything is either burnt or drowned! We have the sun, grab our shorts, but by the time we get to the garden we need umbrellas. Actually it is sunny now, no it isn't, yes, no, yes, no yes......... Aaaagh!!
