Do you ever get paranoid that something is going to ruin your plans?
For me, anytime something good happens, I feel like there is going to be something to mess it up, as if my plans are doomed to fail. I feel like it's too good to be true, so something is bound to mess it up.

I would be feared by thinking this way. Also that my negative thoughts might have a bad influence on the things going to happen. Therefore I am always trying think as positive as I may. I don`t know if it does make any difference but I know that we are able to muster more energy in positive things than in negative.
Wish you a positive nice day - have fun !

Last weekend we took our kids and a friend of ours to an amusement park. All the way I kept thinking about the weather. It looked like it would rain, and I was worried our day would be ruined by the rain. My husband and friend kept saying "We're going to have fun no matter what". Well the weather was a little chilly, but it never did rain, and we had an awesome time!!
I guess I just need to adapt to that way of thinking. Nothing will stop me!

True, when things are happening perfectly I get worked up. I start thinking about all possible things that could ruin it. My husband says it is a bad thing to do because our negative feelings are the only ones responsible for ruining good things. He insists that I must always be positive and I am trying hard to work on it.

Oh yes every time, this is one of the reasons why I do not get too excited about anything until it happens and I try not to talk about anything that I am excited about too much either just in case I am jinxing myself by being too happy. So yes, I know exactly what you mean.

I was terrified it was going to rain last night and ruin our concert, but it did not! So we got pretty lucky.

I do have a tendency to play down any anticipation so that I'm not disappointed. Life does seem to have a way of 'punishing' us for having high expectations sometimes. My experiences over the last 6 or 7 years have made me more of a 'go-with-the-flow' sort of person.

I have gotten a bit more relaxed as well. I remember as a teenager if a friend invited me over I would forsee something happening and I wouldn't end up making it. Now it's only major events that I see being ruined. For instance I'm so worried about it raining today because we're going to a concert tonight. I'm worried the rain will ruin our fun. But I'm going to try to think positive and have fun regardless of the weather.

Yes, that does seem to happen. A lot of times it seems that things can be very stressful in life and also challenging. It almost seems that it is normal to be living on the edge half of the time.
When things start looking up, yes I do get a little paranoid myself. My family and I have been through a lot of ups and downs in the past years. I like to be optimistic but sometimes it isn't easy. We should probably all just take it day by day and count our blessings.

I am a little paranoid. It seems that if something good is about to happen and I tell a friend or family about it, it falls through. So now, if my husband comes home and tells me we're moving to Australia, for instance, and it is something I really would like to happen, I don't tell anyone! Silly I know, but it satisfies me, and usually things work out too. Don't know why, but it's weird how that works out. Kind of a reverse karma thing.

Yeah, you're trying not to Jinx it... I do that as well. I make sure not to say certain things. Like tonight we're going to a concert, and I'm worried about it raining. So I probably won't say that the weather looks good, because that will jinx it and make it start raining. LOL

I'm always been use to failures in my life.
That's why if I plan on something good I always
anticipate something bad to happen. This is one
negative habit I want to change.

I use to be that way. Now I am layed back. If it does not go the way I thought I just deal with it and keep going. The hubby panic's. He freaks. Always tells me no it shouldn't be this way and I have to always tell him maybe this is better then what we planned! He tends to get this mental picture in his head and can't deal well wit it when his planns get ruined and it does not go that way.

I think that a lot of folks have felt like this.. Only because we have had plans in our past when we were young that could not be carried out. Things do happen sometimes that prevent us from doing somethign that we are really looking forward to.
I hope that your plans stay in place. Enjoy your concert. Be careful and have fun!
