Have the Gas prices actually affected the way that you drive?

I am one of the lucky few that owns a vehicle that gets 37 miles to the gallon. I wanted a more economical car that would save on gas and money.
Even during the gas shortage, I didn't have problems at the pump.
How about you?
Please understand that driving slower is only a fraction of what you can do to eliminate any issues with gas prices. If you are among that group that are driving below the speedlimit on the highway than I'm sure you are causing unnecessary stress and accidents.

I don't drive much anymore, so it hasn't affected me too much. I only do short trips to town for errands about once a week or ten days, and try to do everything in the one trip. There is only a short distance that is highway, so it doesn't make much difference for my gas mileage.
When I do have to drive a longer distance, I try not to get heavy-footed, and if I have plenty of time, I will usually stay at just 2-3 miles above the speed limit. I sure don't need a ticket and yes, gas mileage is a concern. I don't do anything that would impede traffic or anything, and it's not in an urban, congested area so there are few cars on the road anyway.

That's good if it's not in an Urban area. Hopefully the residents around you are doing the same thing so you don't affect each others daily commute.

It had taken a bite out of our buget. I was with my hubby one day while he was filling up. $48, I was shocked. We didn't change our speed limit or driving habits. We have just driven less. Stayed home more, tried to find creative entertainment. lol

Totally agree. I've actually gotten more exercise now since I'm not driving as much.

Hi,
After the gas prices increased few months ago, I started to drive slow. From my experience and several experiments, I found that driving slow and driving at constant speed can help to save gas.
So, I am always keeping my driving speed constant and slow.

i used to drive fast.. over the speed limit sometimes.. but with the skyrocketing oil price I learn how to drive slowly. And I am using the bus service for my short distance trip.
