Do you think Parents around the Globe should only be allowed to rear one child?

This is a touchy subject since I do not and will not have children in this day and age.
At this time, the salaries for a 2 person, middle class, working relationship is barely enough to sustain a comfortable life for them, let alone children.
There could be resources for the wellbeing of these children but, the elitists are hording them for themselves.

That is a controversial subject. There seems to be two sides to that coin.
On one hand I don't think anyone has the right to tell someone else how many children they can have.
On the other hand, I have seen men out there that just spread their seed and take no responsibility for the lives they are making. And women who just pop one out after the other and expect a check from the government to help support the children.
Something needs to be done with these folks, what I don't know. I have heard of judges actually telling some women they have to be sterilized.
It's a controversial subject indeed.

I think its a good point you make concerning people spunging off the government by having more and more kids just to get the benefit cheques. It is a big problem but having a ceiling for the number of children is not going to help, we have to motivate these people to get into work, or other methods of money making be that through online stuff or entrepreneurial activity and then they will not need to take the money out of the government coffers, saying that many probably still would.

I like your reasoning but, these people are only sponging off the economy for one reason, they are just to lazy to get off their butts and do something about it. It really makes my blood boil considering how hard I work to take care of my responsibilities and my tax dollars are helping these good for nothings collect money for doing nothing.

I do not think this would be a good idea and one big reason comes to mind, every to a one only child I can think of right now, has been a spoilt brat. Thinking the world revolves around you because your the only one getting attention from your parents can make it a lot tougher later on especially if you are unable to match the level of living that they have provided for your childhood.
I think too many children as it is our thinking that they need all the attention and in todays society we put the blame on this that or the other, one of my good friends is diagnosed as ADD, well unless that translates into latin to LAZY BUM then I can assure you that these labels are not always rightly given (often given out far too lightly as something to blame).
So in conclusion no I think this would be a terrible idea and would be a great restriction of human rights.
