Do you believe what salespeople say? People engaged in sales are everywhere and if you ask them, their products or whatever is the best in the market. Do you think they also patronize their own products or are they just giving as the lip service? I don't like to endorse something that I haven't tried. That way if ever, i tell other people about it, I know that it works.

I'm a saleperson. But I do believe in the product I'm selling, and therefore, feel completely honest when I tell any one of my customers that what I'm selling is the best of the best.

And I get paid just for showing, not for selling. I get more if I sell something, but I think there's less pressure for the salesperson to be pushy if they get paid like that.

Usually when someone sells me something I try to find out if he or she is using it. But one time there was this salesgirl for a brand of makeup. She was so enthusiastic about her products, telling me about how it worked, its advantages and even the disadvantages. I prefer people like that - those who are candid about the strengths and weaknesses of their product/company. But most salespeople are not like that. They would never admit that there's anything wrong with their product.

Frankly speaking, if the product was the best and as good as the sales people claim it to be, then would you need the sales person ? I always keep this in mind that the sales people is keeping his comission or his earnings in mind while selling the product. Endorsments from friends is usually the best way to decide.

The famous and widely used sales pitch is simply to only say all the good things about your product and give that out.
Since everyone does that then obviously everybody has something truly good with only good points and are all therefore best sellers.
I guess we need to experience a product and then form a judgement.
When you find something good, stick with it !

Salespeople, well what can we say, they are doing a job,an unenviable job selling is too,but someone has to do it.The door to door salesmen are a real pest ,they are very persistent and often abrupt and rude if you dont want to buy their products,I have had one put a foot in the door before now,and we very lucky to not end up with a broken leg.The worst offenders are the energy salesmen, the utilities ,gas and electric,,as much as you may tell them that you arent looking to change your provider, they want to tell you that the tariff they are offering is the est.The package they can offer you is the cheapest and their company is the most efficient. From time to time we have had door to door canvassers, and also those who sell goods on behalf of the blind ,or the disabled, but unfortunatley there was one of the disable sellers who was very rude to me one day!.so at the moment we have a notice on the door,no canvassers or door to door salesmen .

Ouch, I sympathize. A door to door salesman wouldn't get out of my doorway either once. Although I think these people make other sales people look bad. Because I never knew what a hard job it was to sell stuff until I became a salesperson. But even now, I would never push someone to buy something if they already said "no".

Hi diutay,
I dont't like sales people because I was one of them and I have sell hard and fast and it was all trash, the more you sell the more money you earn and they tell the biggest lies to their customers and yes they are giving you the lip service.
