I guess if people are unfortunate enough to land themselves in prison, they'll just have to put up with whatever the situation hands them. They aren't in prison to be wined and dined, anyway. Would a smoking ban in prisons make you think twice about committing a crime?

Someone can decide not to commit the crime in the first place, and then they won't have to worry about whether or not they can smoke in prison. But if they do get convicted and sent to prison, their healthcare is taken care of and paid for by the tax payers of the state, so I don't see why the tax payers need to pay for their bad habits.

Well i don't feel sorry for one in prison, but others should have a choice and they are slowly taking that away from us state by state.

wow, that sucks, I would hate to be in prison over there. I mean damn, it's not bad enough you're in prison with a bunch of killers but now you can't even hit that Marlboro? Maybe it's good though cause then people would be forced to quit but I can see people rioting over it though so that's bad.

My opinion is you decided to commit a crime, this is your punishment. Everybody knows right from wrong. If you break the law deal with the consequences. We all have consequences and this happens to be one of theirs. As a wife of a correctional officer I can tell you that the inmates are in the process of getting better health benefits then we get. So, I do not feel sorry for them one bit!
