Hi there laura83 I have been to Bulgaria about 15 or so years ago now. I really enjoyed it apart from seeing the poorer areas. The people are very friendly and try hard to speak English. I loved watching their traditional dance in their beautiful costumes and the tradition of dipping that bread stuff into salt when being welcomed somewhere and those lovely painted eggs. The weather was great, the food was good and everything was so cheap we came home with some money in our pockets!

Hey Humbug25, i'm really glad that someone turned up to visit Bulgaria and share this exotic experience with me...oh, the traditional dance is so exotic, and their folklore...those unique and funny shoes they wear...I visited Bulgaria this summer. The people are really friendly and still try hard to speak English...They welcomed us with that bread you talked about and we dipped it in some kind of herbs and salt...I enjoyed it a lot...have you visited the Balchik gardens, Cape Kaliakra, and Golden Sands resort??

yeah, i also heard about those ski complexes, but my visit was this summer and didn't get to try them...all i can say is that Bulgaria is great for a summer vacation especially the famous Golden Sands Resort on the Black Sea in Varna, which is the Second largest city in Bulgaria after the capital Sophia.

No! I want to go. At least I will be able to go to Europe next year and maybe if I am lucky we will stop in Bulgaria. My friend used to live there and they tell me what a wonderful and scenic place it was.

I would seriously recommend traveling to Bulgaria since it's an awesome place to visit. The country is rich in that 90% of the places we visited are green...green fields, hills, mountains, forests,parks...it also has a very rich history..many museums, monasteries, churches...I really liked their culture, you can visit places in the northeastern part of Bulgaria where residents are still dressed up the traditional folklore and live in old very nice cottages and use carts and horses for transportation...besides, the trip in the Danube River which separates between Bulgaria and Romania is exotic, you can see the romanian beaches and border just from the boat in the Danube River....it's a wonderful place for a vacation
