Canada in the Olympics

Why is Canada sooooooooo brutal in the Summer Olympics year after year? i'm tired of the same old excuses that, because we spend 6 months of the year under snow, that we cannot compete with the likes of Singapore, Latvia & Mali. Excuses after excuses about underfunding...how much funding does a 20 km walker need? a few hills (we have plenty of those) and a pair of shoes (haven't checked recently, but i believe we sell those things). It just upsets me with all the hype that Canada has for these Olympics and we come home with at most 10 medals...
