I don't think that is against the rules, because one of the benefits to making friends here, and adding people is to have more discussions to reply to and to have more people to respond to your discussions. So I really don't think that it would be against the rules. I never made any agreement with anyone that I'd respond to theirs, or anything.. but I do try to read and respond to my friends when possible, especially when I have something to say! I do think though, that you shouldn't just respond to everyone just to respond. I only respond if I can think of something to say, and I like to write at least 4 lines of quality response. But I can usually come up with something to say. Other than that, I'd suggest adding people and responding to anything that interests you!
