Anyone's kids have to have surgery for anything?
My daughter is 6 and has had 6 surgeries.
She has Hydrocepahlus (water on the brain) and at 5 months old she had to have a shunt put in her head. Then at age 1 she had double hernia and clogged tear duct surgery. Age 2 she tore the tip of her thumb off and had to have it grafted back on and 4 months later had to have her Adnoids removed. Then just in June she had to have her shunt revised.
She is the happiest child for all she has been through.
She is my little angel, she is in my Avatar with my son but his face is covered by his mask.

I had three rounds of plastic surgery when I was a kid. I was bit on the face by a dog so I had to go through some reconstructive surgeries. I had a great surgeon though, you can hardly see my scars unless I get sunburned or you look really close.

Aww.....I'm really am so sorry for your daughter to be going through all that. And at such a young age. I hope she doesn't go through anymore surgeries. I don't have any kids, but if I can't imagine what you had endured. God bless you and your daughter

My son, had his first surgery at age 8. He had a baclofen pump put in. He has Cerebral Palsy and it helps with muscle tone. He then at age 9 had tendon release and heel cord surgery and had casts up to mid thigh on bothlegs for 6 weeks. It was absolutely no fun. He has been a real trooper.
I have a friend with a child with a shunt and they have trouble with it every 3 or 4 years. I hope your daughter does great with hers and doesn't have to go through much more.

my daughter has had quite a few surgeries also. They induced her so he had a valve on her heart that was not right (PDA) and they had to go in and fix it on day 1 and she was born with collaqual extrophy (I think I spelled it right) that is where her stomach was open and everything was kind of out there covered by what the DR. called a gel like sack. so she had surgery in her 2nd week for that and because her bladder was a mess and she had to have urine bags attached to her so she could drain. Then after a few months when she was stronger they had to go in and fix her bladder and remove the bags. Then at about 3 she had to have a hysterectomy because her uterus was not correct. They told us when she was born she would never walk and would probably be mildly brain damaged but she is doing great now she is in dance and karate and has been on the honor roll every semester at school.
