At least GH gives us some good when they dish out the bad!

I heard it on previews, but then saw it today on the Soap Digest magazine-
The good: apparently Maurice Bernard./Sonny is leaving GH. Don't know who's choice, but something about another show is picking him up. I never cared much for the character, but they are really trashing him for months now - sissiest mob boss ever! So I won't miss him, but..........
The Bad: They are apparently bringing back Brenda!! AARRGGGHH!!!!! I didn't care for the Sonny character but his storylines were pretty good, but Brenda - good grief, all she did was bed hop! Talk about a useless character! And they are dumping her on us! Okay, those that liked her - no offense, but since me and the mute button are good friends, guess we'll just stay that way!
Which would you rather have - Sonny or Brenda? and no, you can't say "Neither"....I already tried it and it didn't work!!!!

I guess it would depend on what they do with the characters. I never really liked Brenda to start with. She was funny when she married Jason temporarily.
I think I liked Sonny because I loved his character Nico on All My Children. He is just adorable. I love his chin divot.
I am very tired of him and Kate. She is too whiny and he is whipped.
I just wish Jason would get out of the mob and do something besides kill people fro a living.
If Sonny would take back his cojones from Kate, he could stay.

I never could stand the brenda character. I liked Nico on AMC too! HE was better there! And Maurice play a really good "Desi Arnaz" in the "After The Laughter" movie about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz years ago. I think it odd that Gh has trashed such a prominant character like they have Sonny.

Hello there coffeebreak. Since this discussion is now 4 months old I can tell you that
you were wrong about them bringing back Brenda. At least I haven't seen her back but
then again I haven't been watching it much lately.
I didn't see the part about Sonny when he got shot and almost drowned but I did see the
part where he was at Karly's and she gave him an alibi, so I know he didn't get killed
off. So maybe he made a deal with them and decided to stay on the show, or maybe there
will be another story line soon, about him dying for real this time. hehe
I am going to try to watch the show more but it is hard since I am working again.

Karpov hauled sonny in chaings to the docks, stabbed him in the side and threw him overboard with weights tied to his ankles. Miraculously, Carly just happened to be walking by and saw it and of course, jumped in and some how got him out of the chains and hand cuffs and pulled him up on the docks - carried him to her house and nursed him back to health. Then Sonny met up with Karpov, and shot him point blank. LAter when he was taken to PCPD for questioning, of course Carly went there to and gave them the alibi that he was with her and they were "doing it". Although he knew it wasn't true, Jax went to Kate and told her she should rethink her marrigage plans, and she did nad told Sonny to get lost. Later, "the russians" beat up Mike, burned Kellys down and now they have burned Jasons office with Olivia trapped inside. You didn't miss much!!!

Sure sounds like I missed a lot. I can watch it on Wednesday as I am not working then.

Well that sucks! I haven't liked Sonnys character in a while but I still don't want to see him leave.
As for Brenda coming back - what ever. I guess it will be the fill in until every one forgets about Sonny then she will be gone again. I don't see her lasting.
Who would I rather have on the show?? Thats really hard because I am really sick of Sonny right now but I also don't know what they will do with Brenda. Honestly I have to say right now at this moment I would pick Brenda - JUST BECAUSE it will give us a new story line and hopefully get us away from the Mob a few minutes an episode!

I think Sonny will take the bullet.. for as Karpov the new russian mob boss puts it "breaking the deal" .. he will try to take over Port Charles..then where will Kate be? good question? of course Brenda will be back she was one of the first characters on last seasons G.H. nightshift.. she was the one that got burnt in the ambulance when it blew up.. also if you watch faithfully thier has been words between carley and Jax about Brenda it won't be long though..will it be the old Brenda? Her face was bandage in G.H. nightshift. As far as Sonny leaving it will be a dissapoitment for me he played an excellant character. I will miss him!

Yeah, 90% of the time, when they have the characters start talking about "people" that have been gone for some time...usually means that character is coming back. I never really cared much for the Sonny character, but at the same time, there were good storylines and all and he made it happen. They have just lately been dragging the character down to patheticness so its't been really boring lately! THey shouldn't have dragged that character down like they have with him being at the top for so long!
