how to mute the sound of activex control?

i want to mutet the sound of the activex content in the webpage i have opened. what should i do. when i open some pages there are some ads which produce sounds that are very irritating. is there a way to stop it or mute them.

Scroll down the page where you see the activex content.There will be an option to mute or stop the content.If that doesn't work you can disable flash and activex content if you don't need them.The best thing is to reduce the volume of the speakers or turn off the speakers.
