Does anyone know how important these are? I'm curious what I need to pull to get into a good school.

It really depends what field you're going into and how competitive it is. I'm trying to get into a vet school and I know I need really high scores to make it in because this is very competitive. It also depends on how good you look in other areas. If your GPA is good, a bad GRE score might be overlooked. And if you have to take other tests too, those might help offset a bad GRE score. For example, some vet schools want to see the MCAT scores and if I could score well on that, they might overlook my bad verbal abilities on the GRE.

Well, it depends on what you mean by good. GRE scores aren't the only things grad schools consider--they also look at your GPA. In general, with the two things combined, if you want to get into an average grad school, aim for a GRE score of around 1000 and a GPA of above 3.0. If you're looking for a really good grad school (say Harvard or Yale), aim for GRE scores that're above 1200 and a GPA above 3.4-3.5. Finally, it also depends on your field. Some schools are really good for certain fields and may require higher GRE scores to get into. So you'll have to research some of the schools you like and figure out what applies to each. Anyways, good luck!
