I really must give kudos to those Olympic athletes that are older than the other competitors and are still showing that they can compete with the much younger athletes. These people truly are an inspiration, the way that they have stayed in shape and have remained committed to being the very best that they can be in their sports is amazing. I just wanted to acknowledge all of the effort and the drive and determination that they have displayed to be able to continue to play at this level of skill.

I've been watching the olympics this morning. I just saw a match in the women's beach volleyball. One of the competitors on the USA women's team was 38. But she was very good at the game. And, they came through on the 3rd set to win their meet with Cuba.

Is 30 really old? I know plenty of 50 year old students that work out in my college gym that are in better shape than most of the younger students. It all has to do with heart. Most of the 30+ have more life experience and have been present at the Olympics before their younger counterparts. They know what it takes.
