I was at the grocery store, getting ready to check out, and there was an elderly lady in front of me and the cashier was totaling up her groceries, after she finished the elderly lady didn't have enough money to pay for her items. And she told the cashier that she would have to put some of them back. The elderly lady started taking out things that I thought was very essential items, so I believe that she was truthful about her situation. I told the cashier that I would pay the balance of her bill if she (the lady) didn't mind. The lady was more than happy to accept my help. And gave me a great big hug.
My point is.. Would you or have you ever did anything special to help another person
who is less fortunate than yourself?

Of course I would do such a honorable and helpful deed. However, you should be very careful in carrying out such actions because there are some people and believe me they do exist that would feel deeply offended if we tend to offer our help to them. Maybe they take it as an insult or maybe they simply misunderstand our kind gesture, but we should always be cautious when it comes to helping any random person on the street and that too openly for everyone to see.
Nonetheless, in your case, you did ask the lady and took her permission first prior to executing your kind deed for the day. So that is very normal and in fact a healthier way of expressing your generous side and helping out those who are really in need of help. Have a good day friend!
