YES I think they should. it is not the kids fault the parents can not deal with their issues!!! Now if the grand parents was bad talking one parent or causing issues for the child then no. The child should remain in a "normal" space throughout the whole ordeal!. Custody battles are nasty for kids a lot of times.

iam going threw and fighthing grandparents visitation. my mother took me to court 4 yrs ago for grandparent visitation with my daughter but the papers she signed said custodyi decided to let me daughter do the visits to see how things would go it was bad idea my daughter just turned 1 when this happen she came home she have nightmares be up all night would not let anyone change her diaper or wipe her clean she would block herself but she spent 4 days at my dads and was fine so i stopped the visits between her and my mom and we are still in court over this court systems says that we can not change our minds once we agreed to something this is going on in ohio we have lived in kentucky for a year now my mother got to see my daughter more than the other grandparents did but point is she has not changed from when iwas growing up i dont think she will change either i dont mind grandparents seeing there grandchild or grandchildren but they have to relize now that we are parents now and they have to learn to work around are schedules instead of wanting things on there time and turf we can't just drop everything when they demand us to and that is what my mom dont understand that my daughter is my child and she gonna have to learn how to take no for answer

Grandparents only should have moral rights unless of course they have proof of child abuse....Hopefully Grandparents are always taken into consideration when a family is split...they are important to the children.

No. It is not the Grandparents place to get involved in a custody dispute between the parents. So many times I have seen Grandparents try to gain custody of a child, usually by starting with Social Services to lodge an abuse/neglect complaint and later when the issue is resolved, the parents end up keeping the child from the Grandparents because they feel betrayed. You have raised your children. If there is not a legitimate legal complained that would cause you to gain custody of a child...and you don't mind losing your own child in the process, then you should keep out of it.

If there is a custody issue there are enough of problems already. So the grandparents should stay out of it totally. They should just support the son / daughter and believe that their child knows whats best for the grandchild.

Grandparents don't deserve any rights. They are to old for them.
