This discussion is primarily meant for women, but men are also welcome to air their views about the topic since both genders are needed to create a LIFE. Pro-Life Individuals - are individuals who opposes the practice of abortion and believe on natural natural contraceptives and other fertility treatments. Pro-Choice Individuals - are individuals who believes in legal abortion, contraception and fertility treatments Which side are you? Can you be both?

To start off, I do not believe that you can believe two different things at once, your either pro-life or not. Your either pro-choice or your not. Alot of people say they're pro-life until someone gets raped, or some other very unfortunate circumstance happens. I still believe whole-heartedly that it's murder, whether or not that baby was concieved consentually or not. Life if life, and it starts at the moment of conception, and babies can feel pain just like we do. I believe that God gave us the gift of life for a reason, and that's to help make this world a better place, and it's not ours to decide whether or not to kill someone, no matter what the circumstance.

Again, just like what I replied with marimax previously, I salute people like you who have the guts to say that they can be 100% Pro-Life and will live by it no matter what. And really I just hope my mind and heart could be like yours and that my 1% who does not believe will be added to the 99% of my belief about being a Pro-life. Thanks for replying my friend.

I am pro-choice. Women deserve the right to choose maternity. Often, I think of abandoned and abused children, these treasured souls who came into the world with not enough love. Does abortion offer a solution to this problem? A simple yes would discredit the aforementioned children. I am not sure if we can be both sides. I mean, we could be pro choice and still love children. It doesn't necessarily represent a pro-life stance. The pro-life movement is primarily anti-abortion. It is a following looking to terminate access to safe abortions. I can't forget to mention that the pro-life movement does present the sacricity of human life and with this position, I agree. Yet, I would not say that I have become pro-life just due to sharing a common belief.

I know that Pro-Life is definitely anti-abortion in any ways but if I would coin a term to those in the middle like me, I would like to term it as Selective Pro-Life. Where I believe that by all means the unborn has the right to live but if the diagnosis to a pregnant woman is that she will bear a 'defective' child, I would rather go on aborting the pregnancy. I hate to think that children who would be born like this will suffer most once they're born.

I don't think your definitions are entirely accurate. There are many pro-lifers who are not opposed to hormonal birth control. I am pro-choice. I believe that each of us has the right to make life changing choices for ourselves.

Maybe what you say in context is true coz I also believe 99% in Pro-life but as I pointed out in my replies above, I still have that 1% clout in my mind in the case of aborting a life for those pregnancy with defect cases. But the definition I gave was based on the general 'written' meaning of such words. My stand is 99% Pro-life and 1% Pro-Choice. I don't use hormonal or artificial birth controls. It's just a matter of perspective and mind over matter with regards to this kind of things. And we definitely enjoy life with our kid. Wikipedia says: The political and ethical view which maintains that fetuses and embryos are human beings, and therefore have a right to live. Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro-life Merriam-Webster says: opposed to abortion. Ref: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pro-life Hope you got my point and thanks for your input.

I am pro-life because I think abortions are wrong and are a bit like murder. Once a lady aborts her baby no amount of money can bring her baby back into the world. She might think aborting her baby is the right thing to do but in the years following it regret her decision and feel guilty. I imagine all the people that have been lost, maybe someone as great as Mozart or as talented as Shakespeare. If a womb was transparent no lady would abort her baby I feel, her love for the little one would grow if she saw him or her grow every week of the pregnancy. I believe in natural contraceptives and think what a person uses for this is their personal choice. I know people that have chosen to have fertility treatment and this has given them the child or children that they have so wanted. I am glad that I didn't need help with my fertility. I have 2 sons and would dearly love to have a daughter.

I agree with you 101% and I bow on people who could stand with upholding a human life no matter what. I just hope someone like me who is still 99% Pro-Life would somehow find the missing 1% to complete the life of the unborn. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.

Hi summerchick. Personally, I would say that I am on both sides of the fence with this one. On one hand, I believe a woman's body is hers to do with as she wishes yet I think legal abortion makes it an easy way out for young girls that get pregnant. I have heard a few young girls around my town say that they are not worried about getting pregnant because if they did, they would just get an abortion. I myself would never have an abortion but I don't look down at those who have.

I hope those girls are NOT serious about getting into abortion on things about unwanted pregnancy. One must understand what LIFE is and how valuable one's life is. I just hope somebody in your area would educate them about the risks involve in doing abortion especially in a woman's body. Thanks for sharing your views, my friend.

I hate calling it "Pro-Life." It makes it sound like the other side is not pro-life. I believe in choice, to an extent. But I would never do it myself. Just because I believe that people, in some cases should have choice, does not mean I do not support life. I do however think that abortion is not and should never be used as birth control methods.
