I was for, some time a very shy person with a terrible stage fright. But my job has taught me to become confident and a more outward. Although there are times when I still experience some attacks of nervousness, for the most, I have overcome my stage fright. Are you a shy person?

I am a very shy and introvert person. As far as stage fear is concerned ,I cannot give a speech on stage but if asked to dance, i will be very confident as i love to dance. I have done many dance performances on stage and won many prizes so i don't have stage fear for that.......Have a nice day.

Really? I never thought that shyness as a human behavioral condition is selective to certain human activity. I was a shy person in all outward activities.

By the way, congratulations for your achievements as a dancer!

I am a shy person and have been 47 yeasr since birth. Works OK for me! (It does ot bother me.) I live a quiet , solitary life and don't bother anyone. Like my painting, writing and TV! (Love to swim!) It's OK to be shy, as long as not having a bunch around does not bother you. If it does, there are psychologists to help!

Yeah. I think your activities (painting and writing) are usual activities of people who would mostly like to be alone.

All threw high school many people thought I was stuck up because I was so shy I kept to myself and didn't talk to anyone. I never volunteered in class or anything. Then I got a job in sales and took many courses that helped build my self esteem and now I am much more outgoing.
I can relate to how you feel, because my job also changed me from being so shy. It is a great feeling to not be so nervous all the time.

I think there is really a time or stage in our life when we realize that being so shy will not do good to us. Realizing that would be the turning point aside from the demands of the job.

No I am not. I have always been told I have been outgoing. There are times I guess where I have been a little nervous. But that doesn't really stop me from getting out there. I see these same behaviors in my daughter. She is a go-getter. I think this will serve her well as she grows up. I love her confidence. I only hope I had something to do with it.

I envy people who are outgoing like you. I see them as very confident.

I was a very shy person when I was younger, but I'm hardly shy at all now. When I gained self confidence and self esteem, I realized it was useless to worry about what anyone else thinks, how I feel about myself is what really matters.
It was also my job which had the greatest impact on me. When I was promoted to a position of responsibility I began to feel more confident. I was able to talk to anyone to socialize more easily.
I have never been on a stage, but I did have to speak in front of a class of students a few years back. I did not feel too nervous, because I knew I could act confident, then I would feel confident too.

Maybe, it is the inconfidence in a person that really makes him shy. We have been in a very similar kind of life story.
