Suddenly waking up from deep slumber...

Philippines

One of the things I really hate is when I suddenly wake up from deep sleep because of noise or people purposely waking you up. When this happens, I really get easily irritated. I easily get edgy. Such attitude would last for a while. This is especially true if I wanted to get as much sleep as I can. Or, if I had a difficult time sleeping and when I finally get to sleep, I am disturbed by some noise or someone who purposely wakes me up. How about you? How do you feel? What do you do?

I would obviously get annoyed. Even if I had told them to wake me up on a particular time, I still get annoyed. I don't know why but, it mostly happens when I get that good kind of sleep that is so elusive for some reason, it only comes around rarely and when it does, something inevitably disrupts its continuity. Then, there are those good sleeps that I just suddenly wake from and have a hard time going back to. I end up trying to tire myself out on things until I get sleepy again but, its like my biological clock got messed up and it would be just a hassle..

Really depends on the daily routine.. even though that we can acquire such a time span for sleeping (if we live by ourselves), we still have to consider our surroundings that affects our actions as well as our decisions. Stress is really bad also..

I hardly get an 8-hour sleep and when I do, something or someone wakes me up and well...

Wow, that's how I am too. My husband and I get into it about it each time he decides to wake me up. I just want to slap him for being so stupid. I usually tell him if I want to wake up at a certain time, I tell him to wake me up and yet he doesn't do that. I get so confused, so when I tell him to he doesn't and when I don't say nothing that's when he decides to wake me up. I get very irritated as well. And that's why my husband says he doesn't want to wake me up when I ask him to, but I get mad cause I wanted to get up for a reason. We get into it quite often about that. But now he's not here and I'm kind of missing him.

Isn't it funny that there are times when we want other people to wake us up because there is a need to but no one seem to care but when you want to really sleep they wake you up?

Yea, I just don't get it. But I guess they got scared cause of how we acted from when they woke us up when they weren't suppose to.

hi dolce_vita! i usually get irritated too when that happens to me. even if its only a light turned on, i would immediately get awaken. and it would be more irritating if the reason why you are woke up by someone is not an important reason. that's definitely annoying.

Hi dolce, I will be upset too and will ask people to minimize their noise, this is common to me when I was in College and having a lot of girls in the apartment...Sometimes they will listen and sometimes will not and will end up having some grudge after, then we will report to our landlady, have some meeting and things will happen again! LOL!

I hate it when someone wakes me up! Unless I'm ready I'll be very grouchy and stay that way most of the day.

I'm with you. I can't stand when someone wakes me up by making loud noises. I like to wake up on my own or yes, I too, am edgy and not in a very good mood. The alarm clock I can stand because I'm prepared for it, but for someone to just purposely ruin my sleep puts me in a funky mood.

Hi dolce_vita! Sometimes, I get irritated and edgy too. Other times, I just try to sleep it off. And if the sleep won't come, I will still just stay in bed because if I will get out of bed, I know I will be raising h*ll. haha.. Take care always..God Bless!

Hi. I totally agree. It is a horrible feeling to be woken up roughly, or with a lot of noise; especially if the noise is sudden. I learned from my mother how to wake someone up. She would stand close by our beds, and gently call our names as many times as was necessary to safely and slowly rouse us. No rough shaking. I later found that wakening someone like me the wrong way, will cause me to "catch" an instant headache (that may nag me all day), or like yourself, I am easily irrated, edgy, and may have a bad attitude for the rest of the day. So nowadays, the people closest to me know how to wake me up, or suffer the consquences. (Smile)

I don't tend to sleep well on a normal basis so, if someone or something woke me from a good deep slumber, I am likely to be pretty cranky and probably will spend the next couple minutes complaining about it. LOL! That happened last weekend. I had seen every hour on my clock until a little after 4 AM. Then, around 5:15 Am, the dog started barking. At that point, I had had less than an hour of sleep for the entire night. I was livid. I complained about it a couple of times that day. LOL!

That's the worst, lol. Your body feels really heavy and then all of a sudden you are back in the real world. It's a weird feeling and it often happens to me. It makes me really edgy too. And it also sucks when you can't back to sleep right away. I'm a pretty light sleeper anyway so most noises wake me up.

I feel terribly annoyed by noise or people purposely waking my up.Because I am a unhealthy person and it's hard for me to get to sleep. My family all know this and pay attention not to do that.

I would also feel the same but luckily nobody disturbs my sleep here so i get up any time i want without any disturbance. It's irritating when you were on your deep sleep and you heard loud noise that disturb your sleep. The thing would be, its hard for you to go back to sleep even though you need more.

I'm the same way! I hate being woke up when I'm dreaming or in deep sleep. It is usually a phone call since my hubsand let's me sleep since he tells me I'm like a cat and love sleep way too much lol. The only time he wakes me up I can't be mad at him because he is being too cute or made breakfast =P It's the phone ringing that irrates me especially since 90% of the time its telemarkets! Who the heck wants to be woken up at 8am by a telemarketer...grr lol. The phone usually ends up getting thrown or turning the ringer off ^^

i'll get very irritated if someone wakes me up frm my beauty sleep when i am suppose to get more sleep. But i'm all right if someone wakes me up when i am supposed to be up, like waking me up to work. :)

I am the same, I hate being woken up when I am deeply asleep. This luckily does not happen as much as it used to as my daughter is getting older now. She used to be one for waking me up in the early hours of the morning! I would then be really grumpy for the rest of the next day!

uh huh,..!! i just got the same feeling a few days back. was working at night and when i got home all i wanted is to have some sound and comfy sleep. it was just fine with room at cool temperature then suddenly my flatmate who i considered inconsiderate to others when he purposely turn the volume of his sounds so loud which awaken me. i was fuming with anger, so i get up and storm outside my room, what more irritating is that, he left the house with his music on in that very loud. so i shut it off and went back in my bed and i heard nothing about it anymore. funny but it really infuriates me and my ears are smoken' hot..

i love to sleep. i always wanted to have a very good night sleep. but i am not the one that can easily be irritated if someone cuts my sleeping pleasure. if somebody wakes me up even in the middle of the night, i can't get to hate them for i know that they need me awake and not asleep. i am just like this, i guess, because i know that i am sleeping with my family. but i just can't tell if i sleep, elsewhere. Hi there! I'm not a deep sleeper so I don't get irritated if I happen to wake up in the middle of my sleep. I'm used to waking up also every now and then when sleeping because of my pets. They go up and down the bed always. I just go back to sleep if I'm awaken. Ciao!

Hey there, I, too, get very irritated when I am awaked by some rude awakening. Normally, it's hard for me to wake up because I am a very deep sleeper thus it takes really big disturbance to awake me and usually it is something I don't like. I also get very moody when I just wake up and is very dizzy so normally I lash out at people when I just wake up if they disturb me.

I can deal with it if it is important and I can go about my day as if I had enough sleep, but when people do it because they are bored and restless and want you up. I dont deal with that well. That is why I like living alone and not with a bunch of people. That is why I will never get married, I would leave him over not enough sleep... no sleep you go legally insane after 3 days...
