Well as I did my daily harvesting of my garden(s) I checked my sweet corn. This is from one of the biggest ears of the many stalks I have growing. The kernels are just a little smaller than they shopuld be so I think another week or possibly 2 weeks and I'll be roasting sweet corn. They look great so far. Do you have corn in your garden? Is it or has it already ripened for you? How do you best like your sweet corn cooked? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My corn ears are rather small compared to what I had expected and the size of the stalks but I picked some the other day and it was sooooo good - going to wait a few more days before I go into some major harvesting though. Quick boil in the pot rub on some butter and chow down is my favorite but will be stripping off the ears and freezing some for winter months.

Mine are decent sized. But I do have a few stalks with smller ears. But those will get bigger as well I hope. Roasted on a grill is the best way to eat sweet corn. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I'm disappointed in our corn - years back my ex-in-laws raised the same corn just a quarter mile from here and their ears were twice the size of what I'm getting :( I must admit I've never roasted corn on the grill but would imagine more of the flavor is saved rather than boiling it out. So do grill it in the husks or wrap them in foil?

I think that's why our ears are so small - lack of water. We went a month with next to no rain but once I broke down and started watering the corn really started developing better.

wow grandpa bob! you really have a huge garden there. you have lots of plants, fruits and vegetables! i envy you. i live in a flat with my boyfriend here in sweden and so, we don't have our own lot to where we can plant. but in the philippines, my grandma has this large hectares of corn field. when i was little, i would go there and pick right aged corns and bring them to my mom. we usually boil it. but i do like to have it barbecued, too. really tasty!

I guess one could call it huge. I have a lot of yard space left though. hahaha! If I planted veggies all over I wouldn't have to mow anymore. nevah mind, there'd be way too much weeding to do. Hahahaha! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

We didn't plant any corn this year. So now we are gonna go to the farmer's market and buy some so we can make some creamed corn. Looks like you did a really good job with your's.

Hi GB! When we were younger and growing up on the island, my grandparents used to make us kids tend the field{that's what we call plots of land that we grow produce on}. Well my gandparents are no longer here, but my uncle continued where they left of, and he sends a box of produce to us every harvest. So i'm looking forward to my box of corn and sweet potatoe. I like my corn boiled with sugar and butter.

I LOVE sweet corn especially when it's right from a garden! Unfortunately I'm a city girl and have no place for a garden but I love corn on a barbecue! Of course yours looks wonderful and I'm almost drooling.

I love sweet corn on the grill. Our garden has turned out nicely too. My corn has produced far more than I had thought. WE also spent like 2 hours harvesting yesterday. We have vegetables coming out of our ears!
