I know I should, but I don't. I think I spent too much time there as a child/teen. But I do see the importance of a belief system, especially for our children.

I don't go to church. And you can thank my grandpa for that. He's the type of person that likes to shove religion down your throat. And quite frankly I don't need someone preaching THEIR views to me; I have my own. He even tried to get me and my sister to go to some bible college. No thaaank you. That's not to say I don't believe in a God, but I am not for people trying to put their religious beliefs on me. If you're religious, that's all good and stuff, but don't bring me into your religious world. I feel very strongly about this matter, as anyone can tell.

Thnk that's probably my "problem" too...went Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night, Thursday night....basically anytime the doors were open, whether I wanted to go or not. I believe in God, but "church" sometimes leaves me wondering if that is what God realy had in mind.

I love to worship my God so I go every Sabbath. I love my church. we are a bible beleving, loving, hugging, church. We try to make every one feel welcome. We don't condem those who don't go to church. We try to remember that we are still human as every one else.

I only go during the holidays (Easter, Christmas, etc). I still have my faith and beliefs even though I'm not sitting in church every Sunday, which I think is the most important thing.

I think you have the right idea there - faith and beliefs are different than "religion". Thanks for your response.

I go to church every week. I go because I want to learn more about God and serve and worship him. I do see what others have said on here about not going because of someone else trying to force them to believe the same as them. I am the first and only person to "step out of my family church". It was hard at first because the church I go to now believes a little different than the one I went to as a child. But now me and my family agree to disagree. As long as the basics are the same. That to me is whats most important. I go to church because I want too, not because anyone is forcing me too. And I love my church, and everyone in it. We are small in numbers, but big in heart. I also used to believe that I shouldnt go because I wasnt living the life I should be to go to church...that is until I started going where I am now. No one there judged me on how I was living, they just loved me anyway and was there to help me no matter what I needed. Now I have been there for 8 years, and still dont claim to be perfect. I just do the best I can with what I have. And that is all I look for in anyone. Do your best. No one is perfect, and God doesnt expect you to be either. Just come to him with an open heart, mind, body and soul. If you let him he will do the rest. Takes time, but its possible. One other thing I love about the church I go to is that we all come from different backgrounds, with different experiences. We arent the kind of church that says you have to go to a certain kind of church to go to heaven. Just find one that tells the truth about God. As my pastor says... we are a Hienz 57 church. We come from all over with different religious beliefs. But we all come together as one to serve the Lord. May God Bless you in your life!

Went to church alllll the way up until I was about 16 when the pastor of the church decided to tell the congregation that my mother was a "cancer which was affecting the congregation..." funny... none of the congregation seems to remember that sermon. I believe that religion is nothing but pure spirituality, and spirituality is a very, very personal thing. Not that it shouldn't be shared, but that everyone's experience differs from everyone else... therefore to have a "flock" (which to me implies bling conformity)is more spiritually detrimental than beneficial. That's the VERY short answer. I'm a RelStudies major. I could write a book. (And am.)

I don't go now. I went as a teen. I do believe in God but I don't like to go to church because I know that I don't live my life the way I should if I am going to church regularly. I also think God can understand and he will forgive me. I do good things in life and make good choices. So I think that is OK in his eyes. I don't think I have to go to church to get to heaven.

I don't go. It doesn't mean I don't believe in God and Christianity. I feel that the churches have become too profit oriented and lost their true meaning of being there to support the community.
