I have just recently had dentures made. I am curious as to what kind of gum I can chew without it sticking to my plate. I have tried sugarfree trident but it still kinda stuck. I have seen the Freedent brand but haven't tried it yet. I don't like mint flavored gums so I was wondering if any of you knew of a good non-sticky gum. Thanks!

Hey Raven, you know I'm going to have dentures in the future. Did you get your permanent ones yet? Freedent is THE brand of gum for dentures, it's been around for a long time. It does only come in mint though I think, unless they've added new flavors.

I still have my temps but they are going to be identical to the permanent ones just a better fit. They said it takes like 6 months for my gums to completely heal and be the size they are going to be for the rest of my life. How soon are you going to get yours?

The postponed my extraction until OCTOBER. From the way they're talking I'm not getting temps, so I'll be without teeth at all for like three months. I really don't understand why I can't get temps, but they act like they've never heard of a such a thing.

Wow! I can't imagine going without teeth completely. Are they pulling all of your teeth top/bottom? When they did all my top the immediately put in the temporary plate. I would definetly ask or get a second opinion somewhere else. The place I used is Dentures and Dental Services I'm not sure if those are in your area but they are an excellent dental office. It's alot safer if you ahve something covering the extraction sites. Less bacteria can get in there and infect the mouth.
