Our town has a trash facility where you can take things to be recycled for free - assuming you are the correct height. I went down there with a car full of cardboard boxes. The man told me "You could put in in the recycling bin for free, or pay to dump it for $6.00. You'll probably have to put it in the dump because you are too short to reach the recycling bins." (I am four foot eleven inches). I said, "Could I pay you the $6.00 to throw it in the recycling bin?" No go - so you can't recycle in my town if you are short! GRRR!!!

Ugh! That is awful! There has got to be a department to complain to. I thought places had to be handicap accessible...not that you are but if you can't reach then a person in a wheelchair can't either. Sounds like it's just an easy way for them to make money. They tell anyone under a certain height that they are too short to reach so they can collect the $6...and since the majority are going to be women, they don't expect anyone to make a fuss about it.
