preparing for a long road trip is something i usually do a day or two before the date of travel itself. this is to minimize hustles of finding on rush that could be a waste of time. the things i usually bring a long together are a big travel bag with a little pillow, my toiletries and hygiene kit, extra clothes, extra undies (very important), paper bag, plastic bag (in case of uneventful v_mitng), first aid kit and medicines, some finger foods and bottles of mineral water. how about yours?

I usually start preparing a week ahead. With two adults and one six year old, you can't be too careful. I get all of our clothes ready. An outfit for each day we're be gone plus extras just in case. We take along a blanket or two, some pillows, toiletries, small trash sacks, medicine kit. We have a large plastic bin with a lid that we stuff full of snacks and finger foods. We also bring a small alarm clock. For our son, I always pack a bag with his "fun" stuff. Books, coloring books, crayons, nin DS & games, a couple of his fave toys and his stuffed bear. I also pack a fun little bag for myself with books and crossword books and my suduko game.

Dear friend, If the trip is places were foods and water is not much available or not able to eat well for then that would be given most preference other things are secondary the cash or credit cards, few clothes, laptop, so on goes according to length and place I go. As far as possible I would minimise my luggage may less weight.

I almost always bring a book and an extra change of clothes in my backpack in case the airline loses my luggage. That way, I don't have to spend an extra day in my clothes sweating horribly. For trips lately, I'm going to bring my CD player so I can listen to audio books. It was my paycheck treat last month and totally worth it. I, of course, have to bring my meds and all my condition related equipment.

Hello wenhieRN, On a long trip I usually bring in water, some clothes in a traveling bag, toiletries, paper bag, plastic bag and some foods. It's very similar to what you bring except maybe for the pillow. I like going on a long trip. I like looking at the scenery that you pass by. Usually long trip are exhausting, but eventually fun. I don't go so much long trip now but once in a while if time permits a go on a long trip. Regards.

My usual roadtrip is a little over 6 hours, to my daughters. I normally have a small open totebag that I set in the front set next to me. I normally have a thermos of coffee, a snack, finger food that I can eat while driving. I carry my maps in there, in case I decide to take a different route, and my cell phone and charger, since my s/o usually calls me to see how my trip is going. I usually get my totebag ready to go the night before, so all I have to do is fix my coffee the next morning. I also have a small first aide kit in the trunk, and I normally have aspirin, and any medication in my totebag. The longest roadtrip was 2 days of driving, in that case I had a small bag, with toilettries, change of clothes, etc. for the over-night stay at hotel. That way I didn't have to worry about getting my big suitcase out just for one night in the hotel.

Week before, i jot down all the things I needed so i won't miss one. Things you mentioned are a must specially the first aid kit. Aside from those, I also bring along extra sandals If i'm wearing a shoe or a flip flops and the most important is my celfone charger.

Well, besides the usual, I always take a cooler, some drinks and food. I hate spending money for food at places near the interstate highways. It's usually so expensive. Besides, I still sometimes get a little car sick. To drink, I always have some bottled water, green tea and coffee. To eat, I always have bananas, grapes, and pretzels and cheezits.

I have only had one long in my life when our class had to go some place else with a 7-hour long travel. I brought some snacks, water, and some medicines in case I feel something bad. Since we are to stay for that place for 10 days, I already had pillows, blankets, and other things with me. For really long travels like this, what I love to do is just sleep and watch the scenery so the pillows and blankets are fun for me.

Pretty much the same as everyone else, execpt I'd like to add a few items for safety/maintainence. 1. Hi-Vis jacket in case of a breakdown at night 2. Spare fueses and light bulbs 3. Foot pump in case tyres start to delfate 4. Bottle of water to top up windscreen washers
