What do you do to find something very important that you have lost? / myLot

My girlfriend couldn't find one of her important IDs. She told me she haven't seen it since Tuesday and she has just placed it inside her bag. She only uses one bag as of the moment. I tried suggesting her to trace back her steps but since it was lost since Tuesday, doing so might not yield good results. Do you have any suggestions on how will she find it again?

If this happened to me,I'll just sit for a minute,and try to remember what I've done,since I took the the thing with me,and often I could find the thing I have lost. Maybe you can let you girlfriend try this. Wait for your good news.

I just let it go especially if I could not really find it at all. I won't waste my time looking for it. If it is replaceable, I will just find a replacement. If not, then I just accept it as it is.
