Do You Copy Paste?

If you find a blog with a good personal article and you want to keep it or share it with other people, do you copy paste? Are you going to ask permission from the blog owner to copy the article, or just copy it for your own? Or are you going to rewrite the article so that it's not considered as copy pasting? Or you just save the url link and you just have to send the link to people if you need to share the information? Or you have different idea about that?

i copy and paste all the time...that is what the computer is for. internet research and copying and pasting stuff of interest to you. i just copy and paste, and tell people i send that i got this from the internet, check out what i found in the internet..it is usually something interesting or entertaining to share with others. once i found a funny poem on myspace, i revised it, played with it and edited it, and emailed to others saying edited by me as an improvement to the original version.

it is the internet..if they didnt like it, they wouldnt be posting it on the internet like that...whatever i post, i dont think it is private...just normal stuff about me. i think i post very ordinary stuff...if they copy and paste my stuff, that is better for me, they are helping me promote my work to a larger audience..it is a compliment.

but if they don't put your name as a credit you would be still unknown, because they didn't give you the link to your blog. ANd it means they claim your work as theirs. is that okay for you?

do you think it is okay to copy paste like that? I mean, how if the original author doesn't like it? Do you ask permission before copy pasting?

To share some great content, I just stumble it! I never copy other's article, as it is stealing someone intellectual property and also every search engine hates it. Copied content will never be unique. If it is not personal and truly worth, I study that, make my own research on the same and write my own article and if necessary, I link them back sometimes. Most of the times, my articles will be unique and never got from anyone else...

wow.. i like how you explain it. What is unique in the terms of search engine stuffs? You mean if you copy paste, so the search engine would never be able to crawl your site or something like that?

Unique means that the content is nowhere else available. If you still cannot understand the concept, just visit copyscape.com and provide some url which has a copied content. You will notice how easy is it to identify the copied content....

whenever I find good blog or stories into the internet, I will for surely copy it into my blog and share it to others., if the owner of the blog isn't active anymore, I will just leave a comment into his/her blog so that if he/she accidentally saw his/her blog into my page, he/she wouldn't be surprise and get mad at me. and whenever I copy paste, I will for surely put the link on where I'd get the blog.. it isn't mine and it's my way of respecting the writer of the blog I copy paste.

It so nice of you to leave a link or comment to the blog owner. You might exchange blog links too with them so they would always know when you have something good to share on their blogs too. :) thank you for your response, have a nice day zer0

I only copy paste an article just for school homeworks, everybody does it anyway even your own professor.. and besides these articles are posted mainly for public use... but I don't copy paste an aricle just to post on my account site or blog coz I don't want to take credit from somebody's work, I know how it feels when that happens.. for so many people I've encountered back in college who have no shame of taking credit from my efforts.. anyway, usually when I stumble upon a blog or an article that I really like, I only make comments or compliments about it on my blog and just mention some few quotes I like most from the article.. coz I like to write by myself, too bad I always wanted to be a good writer but it seems I don't really have a gift for that, that's why I'm practicing to write things on my own.. and never copies..

I think you have a talent in writing. I can see it from the way you post a response, and I am so happy to hear your response because it shows that you are appreciate your own work and never use anyone's article as your credit. thanks for the response

Copy pasting on any data in the internet is considered plagiarism, and plagiarism is greatly condemned as well as it is punishable by laws. The best thing to do when you want to have a copy of a certain blog is to ask permission from the blog owner and then after securing a permission you still need to have the URL pasted in your own website to acknowledge the rights of the owner for that certain material. But the most likely thing you can do to stay away from trouble is to copy the article, rewrite it in your MSWord Application (remember to rewrite everything up to a single word without ruining the idea), and there, you can now post it in your blog or whatever purposes it may serve you best. Do always remember too that only 4-5 words within your article that are arranged in the same manner as the original manuscript can already constitute to plagiarism so better be careful. ;~) ....nice question there is ms. klaudine!....

thank you natty... but how to protect our blog from those people who just copy paste without my permission. I believe that there's many people copy paste from my blog without telling me about it, even more, they possibly never put a credit on the copied article. again, thank you for a nice response
