How are you going to be traveling to the new place? Are the fish in an aquarium or a bowl? If you can place their tank or bowl as is somewhere where it is not going to be jarred and shaken up a lot, such as on the car seat next to you, or back seat, or floor of the vehicle, there should not be much of a problem. Keep the temperature as constant and as close to the normal temperature it is used to. Well, that is how I would probably do it if I wanted to take them along. I have never had to do this. I have had fish but I never got attached enough to them because fish don't live very long, so if I had to move like that with my fish, I would probably just give them all away and get new ones at the new location.

im not that attached to these goldfish either, i would probably take your suggestion to give them away & get new ones after. im just wondering of its possible to take them in an 8 hour drive =) based on what i know, they could die if they are stressed with drastic temperature change or if they are shaken up. i will not probably risk that. thank you so much for all the info.
