How clean is your home?

Are you a fanatic about keeping a clean house? Do you clean house several times a week, once a week, or maybe just here and there when you know someone might just show up? Do you clean everything from top to bottom or just shove everything in one bedroom and shut the door? Do you make lists of what needs to be done? What tricks do you have for keeping things organized in your home? I try to keep things picked up as the day goes. I clean big (dusting, vacuuming, ect on set days. How do YOU juggle everything between family, kiddos, friends and just life in general?

My cleanest rooms are the kitchen and the bathroom. And then from there I will clean as I can. Living room and then bedrooms. My bedroom needs a lot of cleaning. lol

My cleanest is the kitchen, living rooms and then the bathroom. The bathroom's pretty small so that makes it easy. I have to agree with ya on the bedroom. It seems no matter what I do it's tornado central!

Yeah..hectic lives can put a damper on our cleaning routines. Cleaning weekly sounds good to me.

I am not a clean freak, but I do like to keep things fairly clean (although my kids make light work of trashing it afterwards).

I like a neat house, but I am not a fanatic about it. I usually pick up everyday, make the bed, etc. I vacuum, dust and mop about once a week, and about once a month I'll do a really thorough cleaning job, windows, etc. Sometimes I'll make a list of little things I don't ordinarily do that needs to be done, but usually I just start downstairs and work my way up. I also like to get laundry done and clean up the house by Friday evening, so I don't have to do much over the weekend. I don't have to juggle too much, since it's just me and my s/o. His daughter every other weekend, and my two daughters are grown. I do work seasonally, wildland firefighter for the forestry, with the exception of this year. I injured my wrist at the start of the season and they put me on medical leave, still on leave and looks like I won't be working this season, we are off from Nov - March. When I am working he helps with the house cleaning. Even though it takes me a bit longer these days, I don't feel he should have to do much since I'm home.

That's too bad about your wrist injury. Things like that can be a pain and slow you down. You sound like you've got a good routine though. I love makin' lists. It helps procrastinators stay on target. Thanks for postin'...and I hope your wrist feels better. :)

Hi..there's only my husband and me in our apartment so keeping tidy, organize and clean is pretty much of an easy job for us. Things taken out we just we them back where they belong. Nope we're both not fanatics but we just like to keep things clean and tidy.

Sounds like a good strategy you all have. I miss cleaning my apartment I shared with my mom when I was younger. Our four rooms was so much easier cleaning than my nine that I have now. Having a kiddo will turn your once tidy, clean house into a tornado zone! Have a great day and happy Mylotting!

I like a clean house but it doesn't seem to stay that way!!! Also I am a janitor and tend to get tired of cleaning so guess what my house it like the last place to get cleaned up. One thing that has helped me alot with organization is that I put plastic baskets in my freezer and put all the ice cream in one basket, french fries and that type in another basket, meats in another, etc. Before everytime I opened my frig freezer something would fall off of the pile and come flying out at me. So spending $10 on these baskets has really helped. How do I juggle everything? With 2 kids that are sick 24/7 it isn't easy. But we do what we have to I guess.

We must have the same freezer...things are constantly flying out at me! That's a great idea with the baskets. We finally were able to get a large freezer that goes in the garage. We put the majority of things in there. Cleaning all day and then coming home...it's understandable that's the last thing you want to do.

I try to keep my house picked up at the very least. We don't have children so that makes it a little bit easier. But my job is very draining and some days I just get behind. The one thing that MUST MUST MUST be done in my house everyday is the dishes and laundry.

I totally agree with you on dishes and laundry, trash out of house too if food is in there.

I am organized and I clean as I go. I do the toilets and the tub every other day. I usually clean a room a day too. I deep clean when I have time. If you keep up on things even that doesn't take long. It really doesn't take that long. Having older kids helps too.

I like to keep the house as clean as possible, it is getting hard because I usually do most of it and hnow have a sister -in-law living with us who has lots of appointments I have to help take, as well as kids stuff
