here in the philippines the usual number of years spent by a person in studies is 14 years from first grade to compeltion of a 4-year course in college..some are longer or shorter than this...since some have preschool years, some only have 2-year course in college and some have longer yers in college...not to mention those people who tend to repeat a school level not just once for some reasons... in your country how long is the usual? thnks for sharing in advance

It is usually 12 to 14 years in England. Most children join a primary school when they are 4, stay there until 11, then go to secondary school until 16. That is the end of compulsory schooling, it is optional to study 16 to 18. After that some people do a degree. Primary School Reception aged 4-5 Year 1 aged 5-6 Year 2 aged 6-7 Year 3 aged 7-8 Year 4 aged 8-9 Year 5 aged 9-10 Year 6 aged 10-11 Secondary School Year 7 aged 11-12 Year 8 aged 12-13 year 9 aged 14-14 Year 10 aged 14-15 Year 11 aged 15-16 Sixth Form aged 16-18

Thanks for the best response. The nursery class age is 3-4 years old here. I am a primary school teacher and I have two children one is going into Year 9 at secondary school next month. I think education sounds great in the Philippines.

Before going to Universtity I studied 13 years then I did 5 years of University. Don't you think is a waste of time? We could be graduated long before that and all the subjects that are not use at all?

Generally 16 years in China, which do no include preschool years. However if you do not do well in the college enterance examination, you may have to study again for a year.So huge the pressure to enter a higher scholl in China.

yeah that is indeed tough esp on the students who have a hard time passing entrance examination..maybethat is the reason why some chooses to work rather than continue studying... thnks
