Please help me. No matter how hard I try i am unable to drink 8 glasses of water each day. I have heard its extremely essential. Can anyone suggest me anything which will help me get into this good habit. Most of the time I forget, or don't feel thirsty enough. And some times I just become lazy :( :(

I usually always keep a glass of water by me. At work I have on one my desk and as soon as I finish it I go get some more. Right now I have a glass of ice water next to me and it is almost gone. When I take a drink I usually take a few big gulps intead of tiny sips. If you have a glass sitting in front of you all the time it will help you remember to drink your water. Also I find that the more water you drink - the more your body will want it and I actually am thirsty more. I know if doesn't make sense but I think my body gets used to having it and wants more.

When I was nursing my second child, I was advised to take a lot of fluid intake. So, I kept a bottle of water near my bedside and drank my first glass of water in the morning....and everytime I went to the loo, I drank another glass of water. In that way, I never forgot to drink water because every time I emptied my bladder, I made it a point to refill... simple but effective method for me. I have seen my skin become much moisturised and supple after I started this. Good luck for your efforts... just keep trying and it will become a habit and then you won't have to worry about it later!!

Kool Aid!!!!!
Just playing. It might actually make you drink more water though! Anyway, I have the same problem. I often feel like I am not consuming enough water. When I have these thoughts I usually have a glass of water, and that is the very thing that makes me drink it. Somehow it just works for me can't explain it.

water is da most important need for our body . u should frink more than 8 glasses of water a day . but if u can not do so den i'd say u should do some exercise an then drink water . or you can play games to tire yourself so that u can force urself to drink more water .

I believe it is not necessary to have water that much. You should have water according to the body symptom. If you are thirsty, you will need water and you just have it. I don't think it will make you healthy having too much water. There are different between every one.

I have the same problem. I can't drink 8 glasses of water - I can feel it all sloshing about in my stomach! I keep a bottle of water with me all the time so a can keep taking sips, this helps me drink more. Also, you can add things to the water - orange squash etc. Any drink made with water counts. Another thing I try to do is have a glass of warm water in the morning with lemon juice. This is meant to be very good for you - apparently my great grandmother used to swear by it, and she lived to a ripe old age and had wonderful skin!

I just always have a glass of water around at home so I can constantly sip from it over a period of time. I take water to bed. I always take a water bottle with me so I can just take small sips from it whenever. I don't usually sit down to drink a glass of water but I just have little sips over the day and I tend to get through a couple of bottles of water (because I often refill my water bottle during the day). I also take my water bottle to work, have it on my desk to sip from - and we have a water cooler at work with filtered water so I can just refill it at work.
I still used to drink a few tea or coffees a day (but never as a replacement for water), even though I have cut down on these caffein drinks now.
