Moving from one country to another...

My boyfriend lives in Ohio. I live in Ontario (Canada). It's only about a 5 1/2 hour drive...but it can only last like that for so long. Visits are great and all, but one of us is going to have to move eventually if this is going to work.
I've been looking into it and unfortunately getting a work visa in the US doesn't look like it'll be easy to get. I recently graduated college, which is a plus...and my profession IS on the list but...I need 3 years experience (to get a TN visa, which is specifically for Canadians/Mexicans) or a job waiting for me. I have neither of those.
He doesn't have a college/university education, but has years of experience in the food industry, being a waiter and things of that nature.
It seems like it MIGHT be easier for him to move to Canada...if he applies for a skilled worker visa?
I have no experience when it comes to moving from one country to another...
Do any of you?
Any advice? Suggestions?
I'm totally lost here!

well, my dear I have bad news. Canada is not an easy spot to move into as you will probably find when you do your research. I think him moving here would be the thing to do. I hope it all works out. Finding a decent man now days is nearly as hard as getting visas, decisions, long distance romance, etc. LOL
