Connecting pc and xbox

Hi, does anyone know how can i share my videos with my xbox? what format do they need to be? i have tried this a few times but it never works properly.

A .jpg should work. If you have media center on your computer, connect both the laptop and computer to a shared network and go to "media center" on the xbox. I did this with my computer. Pictures in .jpeg format can be transferred using a USB flash drive and plugged into the xbox 360 face.
