As screwed up as it sounds, my hubby bought a scunnci steam cleaner at a yard sale for a buck, and that thing works awesome on my rug that the kids have tried their best to destroy. That poor rug has milk, chocolate, coffee, kool aid, soda, juice, you name it it's likely on the rug, and the steam cleaner is working great on it. Only bad side is, the machine is very small and I work a lot so don't have time to do the whole thing at once since the rug is 8 x 11. But it works great as I slowly work on reviving my poor rug.
