From the coverage of the 2008 Olympics on network television, it would appear that there are only two teams competing: China and the United States. By limiting the viewer’s choices of events and teams, how can brotherhood among nations prevail at the games? The focus of the games should be the various options for competition. In this way the Games could demonstrate the strengths and weaknesses of each country. We only observe events where the United States performs well, and this may prove detrimental to the role of sport in the world.

Unfortunately, here in the US we are limited on network television (more or less) to gymnastics, swimming and track and field, events where we win a lot of gold medals! A Brazilian friend of mine said that she was disappointed because of the lack of events and countries...And yes, it makes it so that you don't want to watch (plus we don't have cable...!)

thats not right.this yaer we saw the fall of American supremacy.
in men's and women's relays they show their overconfidence.
in the next year there will be more good players from other parts of the world like India
