I had to take 2 of my kids to the doctor today for their school physicals. My 10 year old had to get one shot, and my 4 year old had to get 3. My 10 year old got his first, and behaved really brave so his little brother would be brave. I am so proud of my 4 year old he took it like a little trooper, he said ouch each time but he did not cry. After the first 2 he did tell the nurse that he didn't need any more shots, but even when he got the 3rd one he still did not cry. How were your kids the last time they got a shot?

I know it is hard not to cry when they are in pain, but it is for their own good. My little guy was so brave, I was just so proud of him. This morning he woke up amd he had a mild fever and both of his arms hurt, poor little guy.

Believe me i have wanted to cry but i dont. I have to worry more about comforting them when they get their shots so i cant be crying too. I have a 2 year old and an almost 5 month old and the 2 year old dont need anymore shots till july of 2010 but the little one still gets them. poor baby! i feel so bad for them but hey, its what they need so we gotta deal with it.

It used to break my heart too when the kids were really young. It might have broke my heart today if he had not been such a trooper. I was just beaming with pride.

Ughh, I dread it each and every single time one of my kids needs thier shots! My daughter is 2 and she doesn't need anymnore till she is 5, but I have a 9 month old and he's due to have another round of shots this month. He does horrible with them. He cries and screams and gets blood shot red. It tears me apart, but I have to be strong for him. I just let him know that the doctor is helping him and that I love him very much. I keep thinking it will get better as they get older, but I think that will never be the case, because seeing my child in pain is something that will forever be hard to deal with. Kudos to your 4 year old for being so brave!! I bet that was a big relief.
