City with the big shoulders

I grew up in a fairly large city, Chicago. One of the biggest cities in the country. The beauty of this city is its cultural diversity and technological advances it posses. We boast of one of the best water and sewage systems. The only bad thing is the tremendous congestion and backup when it comes to getting government and city services. Jobs are almost impossible to find as well as appropriate housing. But all in all I love it. Would you consider a major metropolis or a city that isn't even on the map
