How often do you update your computer system bugs?

As we know, every computer system has many bugs, which are often dicovered while used. And the bugs are security hidden trouble to our computers and create the access to the virus.
In order to prevent the danger from the bugs, the computer system company release some bug fixing programe every day. i usually go to the Microsoft website to download the patches of Windows XP every several days. It is a good habit to protect our computers from attacking.
So i want to know how often do you update your computer system bugs?
(If you never do it, i recommend that strongly.)

Its commonly called system update for minor changes and a service pack for a compilation of these minor changes. This is a common misconception, most users would not update to these fixes because then learned or they have experience it would just leads to more problems. Little do they know that the reason why they're having problem is because they are too late to install the fix, the problem is already there instead of preventing it.
One common problem with updates is it takes time to update, and the installation process(for those auto-update) only start at shutdown which mostly would just power off the system, leaving unfinished update and sometimes beyond repair. I wish Czyuan, that you can awaken their senses with the right way of doing updates.

I updated my computer with xp's service pack 3. I got it from a computer magazine named PC WORLD.
I think service pack 3 will be safer and better than service pack 2. I don't update my pc through the automatic update software.
