Have you seen Kanye West and Paris Hilton wearing this shutter shades? It is the one with some lines on it. It has many designs: full shutter wherein the shades have full horizontal lines half shutter wherein the shades is 50% lines and 50% lens heart shutter wherein the shades is heart shaped plus the horizontal lines I think it is now creating a big impact on the Philippine Fashion scene nowadays. I am seeing many online shops selling those. Do you think it is FAB or is it just a FAD? I think, like those Blair Headbands inspired by the Gossip Girl, it is just a fad that will fade as time passes by. But for the moment, why not fit in? or for some who don't want to be left out, then be among the party people who use it. ^_^

Okay so I am an “old fogey” but seriously they do look ridiculous and worse than anything we had back in the 1960’s and 1970’s when I showed much more interest in fashion that I do today. Generally people who wear things that outlandish are attention seekers, and that is exactly what Paris is and always has been. The sad thing is that Paris Hilton can do so much to help those who are less fortunate than she is and she would not need to spend her money either. She promised hen she came out of prison after her driving conviction that she was going to help the less fortunate but it was empty words unfortunately. As for her shutter shades, wearing them cannot be helping her eye sight as she is bound to get eye strain from trying to look through them. Then again she might actually only wear them briefly when she is in the public eye rather than all the time. The one thing she does have to be careful about is that she does not damage her eye sight or she might find that despite her wealth, she cannot get her eyesight back again. We can only hope that these shutter shades are a fad and that they disappear very quickly and before too many young people follow Paris and end up with damaged eyesight.

I agree that it look ridiculous but I disagree with the "old fogey" thing. I read somewhere that a true age of man can be seen at the back of his hands and I think that by the way you answer discussions, I can sense that your still young. Well, this shutter shades defeats the purpose of a shade. This is mainly invented for fashion and not for substance. If you happen to wear one, you can see blinds everywhere But I must say that it has been a local craze here in the Philippines and I happen to sell those in my online shop and luckily, a number of them bought. :))

Thanks for the nice words. I am genuinely pleased that some people did buy them from your onlione shop because better you have the money for them than keeping them as unwanted stock. Actually most people do not get to my age without learning a few things along the way and if we can put that information to good use, then so much the better. One of the things that I find "objectionable" about people like Paris is that with the following they have, they could actually do so much good in this world. It is not that she has a fantastic talent or anything like that or if she has any talent oor skills, it is that she is able to get people to follow her lead. That could be put to good use instead of being wasted on friviolity. Off my soapbox now and may she find something else that everyone wants and you can sell through your online shop.

I think that's one of the silliest things I've ever seen! They remind me of those glasses that had windshield wiper blades on them that were really popular for a few years. I think it's definitely a fad, but most popular fashions and styles are. I haven't seen those before, so thanks for posting.

HAHAHA the first time I tried the shades, it make me feel a lil bit weird. I don't know why. maybe it's because of the lines lol!

It think it is just a fad. Unless one is really the fashionable type, then one will spend thousands for such kind of shades. Personally, I don't like having those likes or anything on my shades that would just clutter my view.

i think it's just fad. and i won't dare wear one. i wear shades to protect my eyes from the sun. unfortunately, shutter shades cannot shield my eyes from the rays of the sun.
