when i hear pretty i think cute, or just passing the ugly point. when i hear the word beautiful i think of the natural beauty adn a union of the inner beauty adn outer beauty. like captivating.. when i hear the word gorgeous i think of a super model that has been in makeup and hair all day. and i know i dont look like that so if a guy says im gorgeous i know he is just trying to get in my pants. hope i helped.

Gorgeous is much stronger than pretty if said in the right context and at the right time (and for the right woman of course ;) I find that one can say pretty to many women as a complement and they take it that way, but gorgeous is seen as a hit word and can be received badly if the lady is not interested.

sure it's .coz u never use the word 'gorgeous' simply, without a purpose unlike 'pretty' which u can use in many contexts.

Gorgeous is more grand than pretty. People say things and places are pretty all the time. "Look at that pretty table. It's such a pretty day. That's a pretty dress you're wearing" and etc. But gorgeous? Most people tend to reserve the use of that word so when someone does say it somehow it means more. There's a sparkle to it. Strange but true. The same goes with "stunning". Tell a woman she looks "stunning" when she's dressed to the nines and she'll melt.
