What do you think about the rating system now?

Hi Marcia,I have never been a fan of the rating system here on Mylot.There are so many haters here on this site.If you disagree with a person, they will rate you negatively, your rating will drop.I do not think that best responses have a thing to do with it. I myself had a 10 for as long as I can rember, but several months ago I posted a discussion about my Avatar, I then droped to a 7 and have remained ther. I doubt that I will ever get any highr, so I could care less about the rating system, it is too unfair, as far as I am concerned.

I think the rating system is determined by how many people rate your discussions and responses positive. You would think that BR would help the ratings but I guess it doesn't. your a well liked person here so I don't understand it all. Just keep on being the Marcie we all love, don't change for anyone. Like I said before you will always be a 10 to me and to others here too.

hi,to be honest i joined mylot to earn but now having got superb friends like you,the rating does not matter much.i like to know my friends more through their discussions.but ofcourse i would be demoralised if my ratings do go down.

The rating system now is good because i think they more a lot now if you respond more and long to discussions here.and hoping someday the rating here will increase.also the members here in mylot.,

I have no idea of whether getting BR's improve the star rating or not.. But i have heard people saying that rating with plus or minus at every comment of yours or your topic affect the star rating.. Also, i doubt that whether people rate at the end of every topic. My suspicion is 90% of the people go to another discussion without rating the previous one.. As for as my reputation is concerned it is stuck at 97/100, for months together.. i cannot understand why it is so.. because after getting this reputation level i have nearly got some 50 BR's.. not an inch moved..

hi i dont think the rating is based on the best responses you get. but i am not sure seeing as you have been here way longer than me!! it does matter to me i dont want a low rating i try to keep it as high as possible.

I really do not understand the rating system. Anyone with a problem with you can give you a negative and then you will lose some of you income because that is based on how good your rating is. I have had a 10 until I made the mistake of starting a discussion where I named names. Now it has dropped a whole point.

It is really a stupid thing though they thought it would encourage better responses. I am not a 7 and my quality is always at least a 9. We only need to diligent and use the plus sign every chance we get. It does not really slow us down and to do so is a positive thing. I like your discussions and most are really good things to share and to respond to. Let us hope that we can stay strong and not let their things they attempt to sway us from the quality that we are totally capable of.

A while back it used to matter to me now I could care less. It is so flawed and easily manipulated by rotten people it is IMO not worth paying any attention to.

In my opinion, the ratings system has some flaws. You can post the most well-thoughtout and researched discussion, but your ratings go down because some people disagree with your position. Even though you received 6 best responses, you may have upset a certain group of people who oppose your position. I hope that your ratings increase very soon. Best of Luck. Lloyd

I don't know about how ratings are down nowadays, since I have been away for quite sometime now, so I guess pretty much that neither my earnings go up and neither they are going down. So, I guess it is a strange thing for me. As an oldie here, I would like to know, how the ratings system works these days and also it does matter to me, what my rating is.

I have been around about a year and have seen my ratings go up and down. with 9 stars I am pretty happy where I am. If I go to 10 then great. If not then great. I just don't wathc these numbers like I used to. Their good if you like tracking how popular you are or how well liked you are. I do love getting BR but not for the rating, for the satifaction that I have done my best to answer the discussion that was palced before me.

I also don't like the idea of rating system here already. It is very clear that the arguments in the discussions are the key to your star rating but this shouldn't be the case really. The people will rate you down for your opinions and I always had that experience. Of course it is not for sure that the person you are discussing is giving you negative but some people who have nothing to say but just don't like your opinion might rate you down and go... This doesn't belong to any democratic rules since that situation made me afraid of joining political and religional discussions. We are talking about internet here and we are talking about the world. When you are counting the benefits of mylot you usually say "you can chat and discuss with people from all around the world" then what? If people are from all around the world,then the ideas also will be from all around the world. Then what is the purpose when rating someone negative when they don't agree with you and they have a different opinion? I don't think best responses have ANY thing with the rating system. It is only about the "+" and "-" buttons on our posts and as I have just mentioned, it is not a measurement of anything really or.., yes it can be the sign of your style. If you have a higher rating that means you are getting on well and mostly thinking in the same way with the majority in mylot or you are simply ignoring some topics to keep your rating up.

Hi ya marciascott Oh dear who have you upset? . Sure your rating matters because that influences your earnings! Your star rating, I don't think, has anything to do with your BR's more to do if people mark your comment/response as positive. Who know's apart from the myLot lot!!

To me, you're a 10 as well, Marcie dear! I haven't been here for a while now, and I'm not really sure how this rating system goes, but all I know is, yuo're one of the best mylotters to me! doesn't matter what your star number says! enjoy your day now dear!

Not sure what impact a best response gets, cant imagine its very much, I have hundreds of em and never had a upwards change in earnings. It seems to me that mylot dont monitor the site at all anymore. It seems to be the only time mylot get to know about any of our doings now is if someone reports someone else. OK this gives a disproportionate amount of power to those who set themself up to clear the site of users who break the rules, but those who live by the sword, die by the sword, so everyone gets caught eventually. Such a dispersed tyrony has its place I honestly find it a little bit sickening here. Those who would otherwise be powerless seem to enjoy excersising power here by getting other users thrown off the site. I guess such mindless powerbroking is the preserve of those who have empty lives, more to be pittied than condemned blessed be

I think the response system is good, and doesent have to change!
