Is it just me or was the scoring in the Olympic just wrong?

Funny you should say that me, my partner and my dad were discussing the socring in the Olympics today.
Yes we all argeed that the judges are being unfair and its not just with the gymnastics have also seen it in the boxing and in the judo.
One example is in the Judo i was watching a fight with my daughter (who is a Double National Champion in Judo for her weight group) and she was telling me that one of the people who was fighting should have recieved a penalty this happen three times but not one was given.

Okay, I am glad it was not just me.
I gotta tell you, to me it seemed that the judges are making sure China has a good showing.

Nope, it's not just you, as a matter of fact you're in excellent company because famed gymnastics coach Bela Karoli said tonight in an interview how upset he was that an American gymnast was "ripped off" so horribly in the vault final. I missed seeing the whole competition but apparently the girl who ultimately won had fallen plus had other mistakes that should have been deductions and the American - her name is Alicia, last name unknown - did much better yet got a much lower score, enough to keep her out of the medals entirely. It's always amazed me in competitions like this - gymnastics and also figure skating to name two - the judging is so inconsistent it's enough to really make me wish someone would tell the judges to "STICK IT"!

So glad it's not just me.
I keep watching the Olympics in hopes to be proved wrong.
But Alas, I am still holding firm at the judges is very bad.

I know that with the gymnastics the routines have a degree of difficulty ranking which affects the marks. My daughter did gymnastics for a while and I was amazed that she was given an award when she was not even doing things that were as difficult as the other girls of her age. It was because she was doing hers very well but it did not really seem fair to me. That is a bit like the golf handicap which does not encourage people to admit to being as good as they are so that they get extra shots against the rest of the players. At the Olympics it was the boxing that amazed me. I don't really like the sport but Brits were showing. The boxers seemed to be hitting but only some were receiving scores. I could not fathom it out at all.

Yea, I saw that as well.
I think the thing with that is the circle in front of the glove. That circle must make the inpact.
Maybe there is a sensor in the glove for scoring. Which is tough as many hit to not land squarely on the circled area.

I was really upset with the scoring in gymnastics. It seemed that every score they gave the girl's was way too low. I would say that they were being cheated but I really think they are just bad judges. Plus I think part of the problem is that they use different judges for different events. I don't know why they don't use the same judges all of the time.

I think they were cheated as well. You should have seen me jumping off the couch after every score.
