i've been in this situation before. My ex boyfriend and i were together for a year and 9 months. we were waiting for that perfect moment when both of us were free and could act as lovers in the eyes of the people. one day, he told me he wants to tell me something, i asked and he said "i'll wait for the right time", but i insisted, so he told me he wants us to be friends again. See? if i didn't insist, it should have been us until now, but because of what i did, it ended. There are instances when one should really believe in "Right time"...simply because pain would be less.

I would prefer if he told me the truth, instead of hiding. When you're in a relationship, I don't think it's just about you anymore. It's about both of you. So, I think you should tell each other the truth and deal with it together, not matter how difficult the truth is. The truth comes out, one way or another. It's just probably best if it comes from the one you love.

I would rather know the truth no matter what it is, as I believe you can only handle what is true, and if later you find out anyway which people usually do it hurtws all that much more that the dishonesty was like making a fool of you...

What you don't know may not hurt..temporarily. The truth always comes out sooner or later, somehow or other. Finding out from others can be awfully painful, and sometimes humiliating. Truth always wins out. I guess it depends on what your loved one is hiding, too. Sometimes people hide things because they really believe that what they are hiding will make things ok. But that's temporary, too. I'd just would always want the truth. I can deal with that better.
