Are students growing smarter these days?

I think that the children right now are smarter. Maybe because of the changes in technologies and they are being more exposed to it. Adding to that, mopre children are being arrogant too.

I think this point is obvious because students learn skills earlier than they used to and we are more exposed to technology. I think it would be really hard for our society if we weren't advancing over previous generations. For myself, I read harder books than my parents did in high school and I also took harder math classes. Now kids are getting homework in the third grade with work I didn't do until the fifth grade.

Yes there is a biological reason.. can i speak some bilogy here?:) It all depends on the parents yes intelligence depends on the parents as we ( now a days) have started to learn more things which our parents havent learnt when they were in our age,our itnelligence power has been build up and when it comes to our kids they will have the tendancy to grasp things easier than us, for instance if a father is intelligent then surely his son should be intelligent sometimes this varies because of swtiching over of genes.. if his son is not intelligent his grandson/granddaughter will be intelligent, if an illetrate father gives birt to a son/daughter then dont think his offsprings would be stupid, sometimes their in built character will help them to perform well in academics or they might have any talents.. this is the reason why a sports person's son also becomes a great sport person...

I think the IQ of everybody is the same,but as the time goes,more and more things are discovered and invented,so it gives a feeling that the prensent generation are smarter than the previous generation. Actually in my opinion,wisdom of the human beings can accumulate .we can notice that some invents that invented by the ancient people and works produced by the previous generation are much more excellent.

I think the education system is improving a lot. Not only do more people go to preschool and college, a lot of us get extra degrees in cooking, photography, graphic arts, and so on. Knowledge is more available these days. You can even get online classes! But I don't think this necessarily makes people smarter. It's one thing to know stuff and another to act based on what you've learned. A lot of people are still quite stupid sometimes.

Although children may be getting a proper education in their younger years...I feel that it is slacking once they hit high school if not earlier. I have a sister who just graduated high school. She would come home all the time and complain that she had too much homework but when she told me what she had to do...I was kind of dissapointed. Back in the day when I was in high school, if we wrote a paper that included sources...we had to have a works cited page. They do as well, the only difference is while I had to do it manually...they have software now that does it for you. All they need is all the information and it practically puts it in proper format for you. I believe that due to technology there are certain things that the children of the future are not getting a base of knowledge if needed. There is also issues where sometimes the school may put sports before grades. If the star quarterback is not doing so well in math and they want to win the championship game, they may or may not discipline him. I believe that without an education, you have nothing. Smarts should come before anything. Although is society sometimes it is based off of the people you know or how you look...beauty fades and people come in and out of your life...but your education will never go away. Schools should stay more focused on that and try to teach some morals and beliefs to the children of today so we can have a better tomorrow.

I think they are probably the same but it is the knowledge of we adults that this age of childhood is the best learning time, their little brains are like spnges, and with what we know now we try a little harder to encourage learning.

There a lot of smart kids now, I noticed that. They're active and playful. Maybe because of the milk they take. Milk formulas tend to make kids brighter and smarter now.

I agree that kids are smarter these days but that does not gurantee good future because there is a long journey between childhood and elder age ......so its not necessary kids intelligent in childhood would find a same place in the youth also.... Thanku Ganesh

Time flys by so fast ! Yes ,it is true. We may all say the same words when we get older and be surprised by the changes that the world has taken place. In this sense, the next generation is always smarter than the present.

hey frnd..!! ofcourse they will b smarter than today waht we r..!! many reason affect that bcs our science and technilogy are devloping very fast and they all learn them from chilhood so i think they all b smarter ..! keep lotting..!!

I think this is due to the information we have these days. Human nowadays know more about the world than those in the pass. So, they teach more to the children. The children are expose to the world earlier than those in the past.

yea exactly studnts thse days r growin smarter bec of the technologies available & they learn a lot frm the internet too....if they use the intrt4 proper purpose then they can surely grow even more smarter..
