Do you see the typo in your post just as you hit "submit"?

I do it all the time. I usually type a discussion or a comment, quickly scan it for errors and then hit submit. In the pause before it actually posts, I see the error ... but it's too late! ... There is NOTHING I can do! It's like that horrible moment when you realise you've just sent an email or text to the wrong person. Does this happen to anyone else?

Hi! Yeah that has always happened to me. Especially when I was just starting out here. I used IE7 back then and it wont underline mistyped words in red so I really have to comb through each word. Other times I just let caution into the wind and posted a response that has more errors than you can count. I remember it got a comment saying I invented a lot of words in that post.LOL
Now, with all the myLotting Ive learned to type more accurately and the Firefox browser that I use also helps. When I was still not used to typing correct words I just use spellcheck and it would be fine. Now there are less errors but there will always be that one letter misplaced somewhere.

I'm terrible because I just don't notice the spell checking. I love that excuse ... "I'm just inventing words" ... LOL. Mostly I leave out words though. The best typo I've seen lately was in a post about a 38 year old woman seducing a 16 year old boy. Someone came back and said that a 98 year old woman should know better!! That was funny - the image of a very, very feisty 98 year old :).

Arh yeah this has happened to me before too but luckily not that often, I remember once that I sent a little love note to my hubby and then I got a reply and it wasn't from him and they said oh I think that you mean't that for me and i was like oh no!!!!! and what I had done was accidentally send it to the person just under his name in my phone and yes I was very embarrassed but they all got a laugh out of it....

This happens to me sometimes. I used Firefox so it shows me the mistakes I have made. However, small mistakes are often overlooked and I'm stuck with the errors. It's an annoying thing, but you just have to move on, lol. I do get annoyed at my spelling errors because they might make me seem as if I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm a little self conscience about that.

You sound like me. I like to have good grammar and spelling, and get annoyed at myself when I slip up. The trouble with Firefox is that it keeps correcting my Aussie spelling, so after a while I just stop noticing ... that's when it gets dangerous. Thanks for the advice about moving on, lol! I had this mental image of myself sitting devastated at the computer, unable to go on after making a typo ....

Oddly enough i think most of the teams look better this year than in the past (could it be because i have friends from EVERYWHERE here on mylot?). I was glad to see Phelps give his team members credit when he won that eighth medal. That proves that he deserved to win not only in talent but also as a person.

What an achievement! Eight gold medals. Good for him. Watching that race was a real dilemma. I wanted the Aussies to win, but I also wanted the Americans to win so Phelps could get his eight. It is great watching the teams when you know so many international people. I was thinking that while all the countries paraded during the opening ceremony.
