I've watched some badminton in the Olympics. It sure is strange to watch it. The pace is fast and furious. I never considered badminton is be a special sport until I saw it this evening.

i didnt know it was either. i really like badminton alot. it is one of my favorite summer games. I like it more than tennis actually, but I can rarely find anyone to play with me. It is a really fun game which requires a great deal of agility to play it correctly. It's a great game.

i guess you really have to know the sport to enjoy even watchng it. i've been playing it for about 8 years now and really it is fast and exciting. to play it slow is backyard badminton. but if you play it competitively, it can really be intense. and what you see on tv is not as easy as you might probably think. those shuttlecocks from those professional player can fly so fast it can hit you even before you can get your racket up.

My husband plays badminton every week so I know that it can be fast. I have only played in recently teaching our children which was very slow and frustrating. It has been an Olympic event for ages. Tennis is quite new in comparison and it seemed against the Olympic spirit that professional tennis players were allowed to take part but I understand that the amateur status has been relaxed on the participation rules now. That must have been getting difficult to administer what counted as professionalism. I am glad that you enjoyed the badminton.

I have never watched Olympic badmitton. I've played it a bit and I have to say that fast and furious is not something that comes to mind when I think of the sport. I will make it a point to try to see some of the games. Interesting. Thanks for starting this discussion.
