I agree 100%! What the mind believes the body achieves for one..... And secondly, when you really think about it, how can you possibly be unhappy if you are always having happy thoughts and a positive attitude? You reap what you sow really. And if you choose to live your life with a positive and happy outlook; then this is how your life will be! The same goes for the opposite. Be negative and think bad thoughts and your life will be the same.

Yes. I firmly believe in that. A lot of unhappiness we feel comes from ourselves. When we expect certain things to happen the way we think but it didn't, we feel unhappy. When we expect too much from others and get disappointed, we feel unhappy.
The key to being happy is to Expect less and Give more.
Unhappiness comes from expectations gap.

poohgal, well said. Living life with no expectations might sound depressing or scary, but its really about accepting what we have, not what we think we want.
Not too many people make the connection. It was very nice to find these wise words in here.

We are wholly responsible for every situation and event,we experience in our life. The natural law of cause and effect operates in every field. As you sow,so you reap. It is unjust to blame others for our own sufferings. To become happy, one has to make other peoples happy. The happy moment we enjoy at the present moment is the outcome of the choices we had made in the past. The choices we make now will certainly create the scenario of our future situations. To remain happy all the time, give happiness to others ,all the times. Have a nice day !!

love yor comment, and it is so true. if we live to give we will be happy. even when someone tries to take our happiness, we will hold our head up high and know that we have done well. so true. thank you. i think we sometimes get trapped into a pattern of negative thinking that keeps us from experiencing true happiness. in fact, it has become a lifestyle with me until recently. i am really working on the battle with my thoughts, but you are right, if we put it into action by doing good to others, this too can help with positive lifestyle. thanks again.

I think that is a true statement although sometimes it doesn't seem so easy and seems to lasp at times. For the most part I think a positive attitude in all aspects of life makes the persuit of happiness must easier to grasp.

Yes I definitely agree with that. We can be happy even with the simple things that life may bring us. All we need is a grateful heart to give thanks for everything that we receive. Let's start counting our blessings and we'll definitely be happy :)

Absolutely! It is simple - what we feel is determined by what we think.
And while it is simple, it definitely isn't always easy!
But it is definitely worth the challenge.

hi there...they said... happiness is just a state of mind and we can make a choice to be happy despite the circumstances that we are in. i agree with that but it takes so much discipline to train the mind to think happy thoughst... LOL... happy mylotting ~ Shiloh

Choice is important, but the statement we can be happy if we choose to be is a bit naive. For instance, I can think happy thoughts all I want but it isn't going to stop my wife from having one of her moods and sucking all the energy right out of me. No positive thinking's gonna change that. There are good days and bad days. It is life.

I agree with you one hundred percent my friend,we can be happy if we choose to,if more people chose to look at the positive side, and be grateful for all they have than the world would be better, because we can choose to be happy, and not worry about everything and not concentrate on the bad stuff, and if more people banded together and were kind to their neighbors than that would also help more people be happy at least in my opinion.

i certainly do. i think happiness or unhappiness is a state of mind. u just have ti\odecide if u are going to be happy ot sit around & have a pity party all the time. it's up to you. we are all going to have bad days & good days but u can't let those bad days keep u down.

Yes I think that we can choose how we feel for the most part. Of couse sometimes things happen that are hard to deal with and so for a time we work harder at being ok with things. Things do pass and we can always stive to be calm, at peace and open to new possibilitie and friends. Friends in fact if chosen carefully can help your attitude a lot when you are with them.
Will see what others say and hope you get many responses for a general concensus.

i can't agree more with this sentence. we can all be happy if we choose to. there are always two ways of looking at things. i can either look at it positively and enjoy my life. or i can look at it negatively and crawl into a corner to die. either way whatever problem or issue is still around. it doesn't make a single difference to the problem. it's not going away however we react to it. so why not be happy and strive to resolve the issue. what can we achieve by being sad? so i say, let's be happy and face life's challenges head-on. cheers ;p

Well I agree with this to a point. I am as happy as I can be. I am disabled and have been for over 22 years. I am in pain 24/7. I try to think possitive, and go on with my life the best I can. I will say I am content. But I am not happy with my health, and not happy about the things I can no longer do.I would love to be able to work again instead on live on social security disability.I will be happy if I can cantinue to live independantly for much longer. I hate to depend on others.

Yes I agree! You are as happy as you make up your mind to be. If you are going through a sad moment and kepe thinking about it, automatically more such moments cross your thoughts and then you start asking yoursef what have you done wrong etc and just get more sad and depressed.
When you put yourself in a happy mindset, it leads to more positive and uplifting thoughts and you feel much better as a results

To a point I agree with this . Somtimes the thing we are sad about maybe too big and we need time to just morn and then we can move on . I know with myself I try to find happiness in simple things now and that helps much . Maybe I am easy to please and all i need is a warm sunny day by the pool and for a few hrs i can find my oasis of peace.
